I recently had respite at MeadowbrooknPerson centred care is clearly at the heart of thisnStaff encourage you to do as much for yourself even if it took longer. My family noticed no odours in common areas - a good sign.nNurses & carers were clear nothing was too much trouble, day or night. Bells were quickly answered. Personal care, medication, meals, were all adjusted to my needs which made it feel more like home. My special diet was well managed.nOnce they got to know me I didn't need to repeat myself over personal preferences, which can be tiring. Checks were made overnight when doing pad changes etc., but staff tried to keep the noise down - they understood the importance of sleep!nEveryone seemed to truly enjoy their jobs which makes a difference. I'd hear them chatting to residents, laughing, even having a sing along.nThe activities coordinator spoke about my hobbies & gave me craft related projects to pass the time.nThe only improvement would be name badges, as it's difficult to keep track of new faces.nI would thoroughly recommend Meadowbrook for respite or long term care.
