Ioved this restaurant from the moment we walked through the doors. Very friendly staff who attended every need. Food was absolutely delicious. I strongly recommend the fish and chips the batter was light and crispy, we asked if we could have some salad instead of mushy peas. Staff couldn't be more attentive. The dessert were huge and delicious. The creme' brulee was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back soon.
Had a great lunch here. Wasn't really expecting much as didn't know the area. They were really attentive on service, and obliging with a tweak to the pudding sauce on the side. Food was really good. Would recommend and visit again.
When it comes to the restaurant itself, the atmosphere is very charming and the atmosphere charmed us, it is very nice to have such small fires outside and there are great mini fires inside where the fire normally burns very nice a lot of people very nice staff, food i counted on something another reading people's descriptions but it was tasty .
Very nice place. Good food, great drinks. Walk around and find ski cabins and gold bars
Yesterday was our first visit and, boy, all those good write-ups were spot on. We absolutely loved it. We had been meaning to go for a while and then Covid hit and we were housebound like everyone else in Edinburgh. The staff were splendid. Friendly and professional and if that wasn't enough they admired my coasters I am a nutter but I carry them everywhere because I hate a messy wet table. Our waitress gave advice on the menu. We sat on the outside terrace and everything was clean and we felt safe. The food was wonderful. The soup de jour was broccoli and was delicious, served with nice crusty wholemeal bread for sopping up all the remaining good bits. Our mains arrived beautifully presented and hot. The hubs had a steak pie which was HUGE he finished it to the bottom and I think he was regretting that he didn't save some of that yummy bread from the soup starter for mop up and my vegetarian burger was exactly as I asked for it...without this and that due to my food allergies. We were full to bursting, otherwise we would have had dessert. The sticky date pudding looked amazing. So did the cocktails. It is dog-friendly so we will be coming back with the hound. The bus stop is almost in front of the door which makes getting there a breeze. Thank you everyone at McLarens for a wonderful afternoon.
Great, friendly & really tasty. We felt welcome here and would definatly recommend it. Thankyou guys
One of the loveliest Sunday roasts I’ve had in a long time! The downstairs area is very pretty, clean and tidy and thought has clearly gone into the seating so no one’s too close to each other. All the staff that served us were very pleasant, friendly and chatty. The roast chicken was brilliant - cooked perfectly and still juicy. All the accompaniments were delicious and the fact you could order more gravy was a godsend for me! Thoroughly enjoyable and we’ll definitely be back.
I rarely bother to leave reviews but I just wanted to say the tall lady sorry I have no idea of her name who greeted us on our arrival for our booking was the most friendly and welcoming waitress I can ever remember coming across. I hope her effort into giving great service is rewarded. Also, all of the other staff were extremely pleasant including when I asked to be moved table to a booth under the chandelier - they could not have been more accommodating. 5 stars all around including the food and the prices.
It's a fantastic place with beautiful stylish interior, very spacious with different options to sit, both alone or in a group; it has beautiful garden, really large one too. It's situated in a nice area, close to a bus stop. The food is great quality, great taste, reasonable price. I had a Scottish breakfast, all the ingredients were delicious, it was relatively big I didn't manage to eat it all but a man would be satisfied. The service is nice! The toilets are super clean and stylish, for women there are a couple of "rescue" products in the basket, so thoughtful. I'll be there the next time I'm back to Edinburg.
Lovely drinks on a warm for Scotland summer afternoon. Front outdoor drinks area clean, tidy and welcoming. Attentive, cheery staff. Impressed Kid-friendliness: Very accommodating for children's drinks.
