McColl's

The staff are generally fine, but the range of stock is poor for a shop of this size and the prices are quite high. Why don't they sell the Colmans/Schwartz packet mixes? Why is their bread range so limited? I feel they're missing a trick and if they included more 'high end' goods, along with a wider range of sweets, biscuits and fridge products, perhaps more people would shop locally instead of driving into Lewes.

This store is just awful, I spent 5 minutes waiting by the till area so the staff member could bark "end till" at me and then proceed to ignore me the whole time and carry on her conversation. Staff can be consistently seen out the front smoking and ignoring customers, stock is left in the middle of the shop floor and when it does get busy no one jumps on the tills to help just simply carries on like nothing is happening. Whole shop needs a serious rejig of staff/management otherwise its going to run itself into the ground.

The unfriendly staff are utterly useless and can usually be found smoking by at the entrance, leaving the till unmanned. At lunchtime there are queues that snake all around the shop floor. This shop is completely without charm, poorly stocked and leaves you feeling frustrated and depressed. Avoid by all means necessary.
