So what's happening here? How many times do I have to get here and the shop is shut for taking a delivery? Tuesday 22nd September 2020 10:05 shut for taking a delivery sign on door. Customers turn up and most of them give up waiting and go to another shop. Some of them hang around and then they too will give up waiting. Some customers moaning about it but don't take the trouble to go online and complain. I gave up after half an hour and was told later that they didn't open again until 11:00! So that's 55 minutes waiting for some people! Went back later on in the afternoon and the young lady who served me seemed quite surly.
I have only ever experienced nice and friendly staff here. I go in with my daughter who is in a wheelchair and has learning disabilities. At times she has caused chaos in there but they have always been considerate to her needs, said hello and chatted to us. They have held the door open for us many times so I can get the wheelchair in and out and have taken the time to help my daughter learn how to count out her money. A valuable life lesson that takes time and patience. They are clearly understaffed there which must be difficult for them especially when they are busy, so maybe some of the customers could do with taking a breath and finding a bit of patience themselves.
Came to return an Amazon parcel at their post office a bit after 2pm this Saturday, and had no trouble getting it done. There was a nice lady who was working both the cash register and the post office desk. Despite the store being understaffed I got very quick service.
I mean, it's a local convenience store: All the papers. Milk. Microwave burgers. Overpriced envelopes. Spam. Bubblegum. Guinness. Limp veg. Add a "post office" counter - pretty much the only reason I ever go in. Never overstaffed ... so have patience my friends, have patience.
After being emailed to collect my parcel, I go to the post office with ID to find a notice on the door saying 'no post office today. sorry' and the door locked. Thinking it may be a technical fault that may be rectified the next day I make the same trip, and after enquiring, I find 'it may be working at 2?' despite the 7.00 till 22.00 stated on the website. If I'd have known it was this pointless I wouldn't of considered collection an option, or at least not collection from here! Using Royal Mail and this Post Office is particular is my own fault, I would like to say this hasn't happened before, but whether you use a delivery or a collection service, be prepared to wait at least a week before the transaction is completed! IF it gets completed of course! Update, took 4 attempts over 5 days!
Went in to buy milk. Both staff outside smoking talking to someone in car. Stood at door and asked if anyone wanted to serve me. No response so left. Unbelievably bad service. Please employ some staff who have a clue as many of the local residents don't have any other option.
Rude and lazy staff who truly go above and beyond to pick an argument and avoid doing their jobs. They are now using the lockdown as an excuse to keep customers out presumably to avoid having to actually serve people?. During the unfortunate 10 minutes that I had to endure in that place the rules about the number of customers allowed inside changed from 6, to 4, and then 3. Although I do not discout the possibility that the staff on shift simply couldn't count. It is such a shame that while our high street is struggling, and hard working people all over the country are losing their jobs, places like that are allowed to stay open and keep lazy and incompetent staff.
Incredibly rude member of staff who had a go at my partner whom has an eye condition for not seeing the little sign they had stuck down flat on a table saying to take a ball. We understand that they have to keep members of the public and themselves safe at the moment due to Covid-19, but that doesn't give any right to berate someone infront of other customers or at any time. I waited outside, of 15 people who went in only 1 person knew to get a ball due to the poor signage. We are putting in a formal written complaint as the isn't even a company policy. Infact it's going to spread the virus even more as no one is cleaning the balls!
I've been to this shop twice in recent weeks to top up my electric key. And twice I've had issues with my key not being properly credited. I was refunded the first time, and just this evening went in to top up and again no credit on the key. I go over to the Coop and add another couple pound and surprise surprise not an issue money was credited. Will not be returning to McColls.
This use to be a great store but so many times the post office is shut ! People will go elsewhere which is a shame .Theres been 2 staff in & neither can do the postoffice ‍
