Fantastic price to quality ratio - we ordered a lot of food and 2 drinks each and it came to about £30 each for 4 of us. The food was really good, quick service and nice, relaxed atmosphere. I’d recommend trying the dumplings and a couple of the KFC dishes with some rice on the side. The noodles were also good but were a massive dish!
This amazing restaurant is behind a little door that is easy to miss amongst the shops around it. My partner and I arrived there for lunch on a Saturday, without booking. We were lucky enough to be accommodated between bookings by the very friendly hostess. As a massive fan of Korean food, I have to say that The Kimchi lived up to my expectations. We ordered the Bibimbap - one beef and one spiced pork. The food was fresh and tasty, and the portion was generous. The only addition I would make is that I would like to see more of Korean art and decor around; it would make the whole experience even more authentic.
The food was lovely. A small place so only a small number of staff but they were attentive to their customers. There was a bit of a wait to order so as not to overwhelm the kitchen but overall I think it helped to keep the quality of the food high Vegetarian options: Vegan options available
Tasty Korean cuisine, in relaxed surroundings with prompt and friendly service. My other half and I visited for a quick dinner prior to seeing a show at the Theatre Royal. A street level entrance leads you straight up some stairs to the restaurant. We had some man-doo vegetable dumplings, a Seoul BBQ beef and Pusan BBQ spicy pork Korean Tapas dishes; each are accompanied with Korean Fried Chicken, shredded potato banchan, kimchi and rice. This was all exceptionally delicious, especially the KFC, which was cruchy, tender, tasty and had a surprising lightness that belied it's deep fried origins. It was still rich and the kimchi has a freshness that went well with it. We washed it all down with a couple of cans of coke; our only criticism would be for there to be a greater selection of alcoholic beverages, albeit I can appreciate that what was on offer was authentic. The bill was very reasonable too - we will definitely visit again.
My husband and I loved all the food we ordered! Everything was absolutely delicious and prices were very reasonable. We ordered the pork man-doo, chilli KFC Korean fried chicken regular size, kimchi, and the Seoul tapas meal. The atmosphere was very cute and cozy as well. Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible.
Fantastic food. Although it is different to the food found in Korea, you won't be disappointed! Really nice kimchi soup, army stew, delicious toppoki with chewy rice cakes, crispy vegetable dumplings and fried chicken glazed in chilli sauce - all must tries. Recommended both for dine in and take out - it gets really busy so make a reservation in advance!
I normally do the daily cooking myself and I am quite fussy about my food. Thi is our first time visit to The Kimchi, the flavour of food was exceptionally good. Surely, we will come again.
Perfect Korean comfort food! Not too pricey either, dinner for 6 of us came to around £15 each including drinks - considering the quality of the food it really was a bargain! The beef bulgogi and Korean fried chicken is an absolute must! And the Kimchi comes free which is always a plus. I would recommend you share dishes within your party as this is the style of food. Very friendly service and homey feel to the place! It's in a cosy space without feeling too claustrophobic. Not very accessible for anyone who struggles with/is unable to access via stairs but delivery is also an option.
Good ambience, good food. 4 stars because we felt they rushed us to leave despite it being relatively early in the evening and no waiting time for other customers. Also no dessert! - now if you have a sweet tooth like me it’d be a bit disappointing.
If you love tasty food and great service, this is the place for you! The Korean fried chicken was delicious and the budijiggae was VERY nice. Will upgrade to 5 stars after I try their kimchi. There was no kimchi prepared when we visited.
