I've been here before twice and always happy and everything was good but my last visit made me change the review.. the staff seems to be completely unqualified, we had to wait really long for just coffee, then for something that was just to take out of the fridge and voila. Girls are young but damn, it's not a rocket science to work at cafe.
The brunch was very tasty and reasonably priced. The shop is almost always full, the background music really nice and the service really nice.
We had a delicious lunch here and super friendly staff too. Well worth a visit!
Amazing vegetarian Scottish breakfast!! I was overjoyed when l saw a full plate full of scrumptious Scottish scran! Food was fresh, varied and very tasty. I was in heaven as l swallowed the lot down with a diet irn bru and a velvety soya cappuccino. Spacious and light cafe with friendly staff. Will definitely be returning
Looking for a place that served a proper Scottish breakfast, you can't go wrong here. Black pudding, tattie scones, delicious. We stopped here before exploring all the wonderful shops along Byres Rd, I would recommend this place for authentic Scottish breakfast.
Dropped in with the family and we were instantly impressed with the staff. A nicer bunch of people you couldn't find. The cooked food was delicious and the patisserie side of things was far toooo tempting .. .. . . So I did !!! Drop past, 'even for a coffee'
Drinks were delicious but portion size of food items was very disappointing, esp for the cost. The waffle dishes only come with 2 individual squares; leaves one feeling unsatisfied especially at £5.50 for the dish. That’s £2.75 per waffle.
This is such a lovely wee place, the food is sooo good, I had Egg Stornoway and it was amazing, the banoffee pie after was soooo good too. I have been here twice in 2 weeks and love it, the cakes are amazing and the staff are lovely too and smiley, just what you want to see, tend to wait a little longer than expected to get our drinks and food even though it was not that busy, but it is a great place and great food. Will be going back again this weekend no doubt when I am back visiting the other half. :-
Popped in about 3 in the afternoon. Place quarter full. Young lady on till not really sure what she was about. Service very slow. Tea and cakes/scone were reasonable. Also had a panini which had a £3.50 price on it. However, £4.50 to eat in. Really? 25% or so mark up to eat in. No ta.....wont be back, and surely thats the real target. Repeat business. I'll stick to the more down to earth East End in future.
Waited 20mins to be served. Only a few people in. Couple near us got wrong cake! Waitress seemed confused. We were still ignored so had to wave for attention. Tea came first but had to ask for milk. Then came scones with a fork ! , so had to ask for knives. Very small pot of tea for two. More chaos when trying to pay, they had no idea how to work till! Scones weren't even warmed as is usual. Never again.
