We went to Matalan store in Bulwel in the afternoon. The place was not crowded. We had an excellent customer service. The place is also wheelchair accessible. Another advantage is that this store has a lot parking spaces. It is also  near to Bulwel Forest Tram stop it is about 4 minutes walk.  Apart from different types clothes and shoes for all ages groups, the place is well stocked with other household items :kitchen items, bathroom items, storage units, children toys and many more . I would recommend this place.

The staff here are nice and helpful but the store itself is a shambles. There were clothes and other items scattered all over the floor in several places and my wife's walking stick kept slipping on them. This is very concerning from a health and safety point of view.

There are too many clothes for the kids which are very short themselves with long sleeves. It is very hard to find normal clothes for the girl.

Unfortunately a year on and nothing changes with the cleanliness of the store sadly. Which is a shame as the staff appear to be very helpful and friendly and their are a lot of good deals spread right across the store.  Downside is though after visiting this store with a friend a year ago and only recently, she came home with a very bad throat and a bit of a cough. She returned with the assumption that they may of got to work and cleaned up their act since our first visit. But, unfortunately, not as you can see by the pics on the website things appear to be prity much the same sadly.  I believe this comes under the health and safety at work policy that the store manager has to make it a priority to ensure the store cleanliness is in the best interests of health and safety to both work colleagues and customers of the store surely?  I do hope this has helped a lot of people that visit and prompts the staff in store to take the required action to ensure that both customers and staff feel safe whilst at work and or shopping.

Poor selection for men. Bought mens shorts for £15 so not particularly cheap. Material utter rubbish. Not accidentally ripped or snagged, just gave way. Returned, replaced. Same thing happened. Both occasions within two weeks. Sorry Matalan but  carry on selling  rubbish you Will loose customers.

Good place to buy clothes my partner like a wander round

Nice items. Terrible shopping experience. A nice big store with plenty of choice, yet they have 3 fitting cubicles for the entire store stuffed away in the corner. I don't have the patience to keep bringing stuff back so you've lost my future sales.

The website said that the store closed at 4pm, when I arrived at 3.30pm the staff member said they are closed. I was really disappointed as I needed to collect an online order. It didn't help me at all as I had driven 6 miles.

Store is so big and huge collection of clothes for men's women's and kids at a bargain

Last seems like Matalan like people queue. It was not busy in store but I had to queue to return a pair of jeans where the size was labelled incorrectly. Had the firstly queue for the refund desk right at the back of the store. Then after finding hundreds of pairs of jeans that were either 30" waist or 36" with very little in-between, I did find one pair that were on the wrong size hanger but the jeans said the correct size. I then queued for 15mins for the changing rooms, I'm sure only 1 out of the 3 available was in use. After trying the jeans on I had the queue again for a till that accepted cash. Just a poor shopping experience and the jeans were no cheaper than anywhere else. I won't be coming back to Matalan.
