The venue is very nice with a great view of the river. There’s a small bar and a couple of tables where you can have a drink while you’re waiting for the performance to start. It would be a nice to hand out some blankets when it’s colder outside which of course would go back to the venue at the end of the show. Access to nicer toilets would be lovely but otherwise, a great place to be.
When there are festivals, the garden is used for classical music, drama and cabaret. There is huge metal gate to enter into the house. Beautiful setting with Docklands in the background. At the twilight it's amazing! We listened to some kora music performed by Seckou Keita this evening. He has his own style of playing the kora beautifully!
How nice of the folks to let us into their splendid home. I was expecting a museum but instead we got someones private abode. Wish I had asked how they came to live in it. Anyway, it has been sympathetically renovated and the Thames fronted garden is not something you see everyday in London. My boys loved the hammock. What an amazing place and generous of them to let us tramp around it, mouths wide open.
Great performances. But from my seat I hat a spot light in my face nearly the whole show and the speakers were so close that I needed to put in ear plugs. Much better audio and lighting design required in my opinion
If you manage to find your way into this magical space - dont hesitate! We spent an afternoon here thanks to the @NestCollective. This is one good reason to love London!
This house survived centuries and is similar to the original house where Peter The Great Russian Tsar lived in 1698, during his visit to England
Really beautiful palace, which oozes with the history that must have coursed through it for centuries. It has that derelict air which conjures up a feeling of nostalgia for the bygone era in which this was a land of sailors, a memento to what was hardly London, only a little stretch at its periphery where craftsmen and workers built the empire's splendour. There are wonderful rooms, and a piano one perfect for intimate performances and events. It also has a beautiful green area outside, both at the front and at the back, and it sits on the dock just opposite Canary Wharf - where one can admire the splendour of a new empire, different in nature, in its glistening guise.
Loved it, was here filming, quirky, unique location, tastefully ramshackley cool!
The place is very unusual. The house it self hasnt been restored since its been build. Very old style. Love being there. Recommend
Disrespectful neighbours. Run parties with loud music past 1am. Place should be permanently shutdown .
