Beautiful food, nice to have vegan options. Friendly staff. If you love Indian food and/or eat vegan, this is a nice place to eat. Vegetarian options: The waiter was really helpful in pointing out which dishes are vegan. Dietary restrictions: Nice vegan meal!
We had a takeaway on 9 August 22 as a treat for my 16 Yr old daughter who was really looking forward to it. We went to the restaurant and we were greeted by a rather blunt and slightly rude lady who was not at all friendly towards us. We ordered and waited then took the food to where we were staying. My daughter found the chunks of chicken in her korma very dry and the rice awful. I tried it and agreed. The sauce was very good shame about the rice and chicken. My food was OK but a bit pricey for what I got. The chips were expensive for small portion which was disappointing. Poppadoms were good and best I have had in a while. I don't think I will have another takeaway from here.
Been here many times over several years and it has remained consistently very good. Large menu selection to cater for all tastes. Competitively priced and good value for money. The staff are always friendly and helpful and will help you select something that you will like if you are not familiar with an Indian menu. It is quite a small and popular restaurant so it is best to book a table though the last time I visited I was able to walk in. Masala continues serving after the other restaurants have closed their kitchens so, if it's a bit late, stick your head in the door and see if they have a table free.
Live in Swanage and have never had a bad experience in well over 10 years...great food and service with the occasional treat thrown in...we never go anywhere else. The patience and good humour of the staff is admirable given the challenge of keeping holiday makers and locals fed well at speed in August...but they did it again for us last weekend
It was ok, the restaurant was cold. There was only one waiter and the poor guy was rushed off his feet. He also had a bad cold, which was a bit concerning as he was handling food and drinks.The food came out fairly quick and was ok. The restaurant is set out a bit like a cafeteria with not a lot of atmosphere. Probably wouldn't go back if visiting Swanage.
We had two an amazing curries from their new menu - we decided to go for a fond favourite of their pathia curry and we also tried new to us phindi, both on the warmer side with great taste and once again these were both very delicious curries. - we will be back :

I've always had a good Indian meal here. Good portions and tasty food. It's a pleasant place to stop and eat. Sometimes the service is a little grumpy, but normally it's good, so I certainly recommend visiting. Final thought What’s the fastest curry? Usain Balti ok, i thought it was funny...
Another fantastic takeaway tonight from Akbar and the team at Masala. Always happy to adapt dishes from their already extensive menu to suit individual tastes.
More of a takeaway with some indoor seating available. A small restaurant but this doesn't affect the standard of food. Our meal was delicious but the house wine was only average at best.
