As a local I go here regularly for bread and cakes. I can highly recommend the Eccles cakes. Friendly staff too. Beautiful sourdough loaves make great toast. Homemade mince pies, saffron buns and hot cross buns. Yum yum.
Stopped one morning for a bite to eat and a drink ... The staff are really nice and friendly and the food is great .. We took out a few times the massive cornish pastys and even took some home as they really are delightful And had some scones with clotted cream and jam and some Belgium buns all seemed super sized as well It's just a shame I'm 300 miles away as I think I would be in everyday
Quite simply the best Cornish vanilla ice cream in existence, especially with a dollop of clotted cream on top! This is my favourite place in Looe, decent pasties and amazing Belgian buns amongst other bakery/dairy goods.
Convinced to go a little further for a 'proper cornish pastie' and was not disappointed. Lovely traditional bakery which provided everything we needed for a picnic in the woods. Big portions and fresh cakes and doughnuts. Highly recommended.
Sadly the bakery is rather unimpressive. Not exactly bad, just not really good. Most products seem to rely on lots of sugary stuff to cover the rather bland bread. The bageutte is the least bageuttety bageutte I have ever had, more like a sort of long savoury scone. No crispy shell, no light fluffy inside. Might be to some people's tastes, but if someone is looking for a bageutte they will probably be surprised. The donuts were not very nice really. Tastes rather of old oil, or perhap they were just cooked a bit too long. Not sure, but not very tasty. Other reviews glowing about how amazing this bakery is are rather sus, because it really hasn't got anything that makes it stand out as a good bakery.
I love the bacon/cheese pastries & also they ate one of the few bakerys that do Chelsea buns, which are not only yumlish but enormous lol Minused 1 star as I found their rolls to be quite 'heavy'
Huge pasties very very tasty, we had a few buns to take away as well. Staff was great
Great bakers/cafe. We enjoyed coffee with a Chelsea bun & apple doughnut sliced apple& cinnamon on our first visit. Largest & lightest I've ever seen. On our return visit we had a cream tea between us. Very good location opposite the East Looe car park nr. the bridge.
Well what can I say! The diet went out the window today! The front window of the shop is a delight! We purchased a selection of cakes! The scone was soooooo nice best one ever! Belgian bun was lush but the chocolate choux bun was excellent well nice! well done we will be back!!!
I asked for a runny poached egg and I got a hard semi fried poached egg. Pasties looked awesome until my mate tried it, still very pink inside and over priced £5.75.We. did get added extras flying around our food l, best part of our visit was leaving
