I had a lovely large fillet of haddock with crispy chips and don't forget the mushy peas yum ! The shop itself is warm clean and well lit and the staff very friendly and happy to help. It gets very busy at times so you may have to wait,however the waiting is worth it, really excellent quality fish and chips. Also has a 5***** food hygiene rating.

For a place with such a good reputation I'm shocked at the service, size of portions and quality of the food. Food was forgotten and the prices are expensive when there plenty of other good chippies a stone's throw away. The amount of food we were given I wouldn't even consider a small portion after ordering a large and to top it all off we had fishcakes that were barely battered and had been obviously left out for a long time. I don't know how they got there reputation but I won't be going again and I got a full refund.

Don't often have a chippy but when we do we travel miles for a Marklews. It's the best.

Chips were nice but they take far too long to serve. We was second in line and only ordered chips. It took them nearly 10 mins
