I love the Covent Garden Market. This place has everything, there's definitely something for everyone here. There's food, entertainment, massage, grocery, AND a farmers market on the weekend. Out door seating in the summer and an icerink in the winter. 1-2 hour free parking, with validation. Located in the downtown core, so very accessible by bus. Definitely a must-see if you're local or visiting from out of town.
Lots of good stuff can be found here, from bakery, ice cream, coffee beans, fresh vegetables and flowers to novelty shops. There’s outdoor dining and indoor tables for families. Items are reasonably priced, I love it! Will come back! Highly recommended.
Great Market, lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, lots of food outlets and arts and crafts. Had some great ice cream as well. Plenty of parking in the area so its easy to get to.
This place has so much fun to offer for hangouts. Aside from fantastic food courts, they also have great organic fruit and veggies for you to enjoy. Aesthetic-wise, the second floor have many seatings for you to enjoy the view of this lovely market. Great place to go skating for free in the winter. Many festivals are here year round like Asian Heritage Festival, Taco Fest,… many more. Finding a parking here is not easy cuz we’re in downtown so bussing is highly recommended
Come here for a large variety of fruit, vegetables, lunch and desserts. We were after Canadian souvenirs, but we did not find any at this market. We did like the looks of the fruits and vegetables, but we did not want to mess with taking food and vegetables over the border. The fruit and vegetables looked fresh and were reasonably priced. As an added bonus, parking was free for the first hour.
Vibrant city market located downtown London. Clean, welcoming, plenty of parking, good vibes and excellent selection. My first visit and I want to go back. From cheeses, teas, coffee, soups, desserts, fruits, vegetables, handmade gifts, spices and authentic ethnic foods, this market has something for everyone. All natural which you can taste from samplings offered don’t be afraid to ask. We worth a day visit.
Great food, groceries, chocolate and more. What more do I need to say? Did I mention the chocolate? I'd love to have lunch here every day.
Lots a neat little shops and food vendors within the market. In the summer they normally have the farmers market outside. Overall good vibes and a good place to spen the weekend.
It's like time travel. This market was established in the 1800s. It has many local stalls selling yummy food and curios. All the stalls are very tempting. We bought chocolate brownies and cake pops and they were delicious. Prices are super reasonable. A must visit. The ivey park is just a ten minutes walk away.
Senior Citizens Beware: A Horrible Experience at Covent Garden Market My friends and I, all senior citizens, were incredibly disappointed with our recent visit to Covent Garden Market on June 9th. We had planned a delightful afternoon enjoying the 2024 London Multicultural Festival, but what started out promising ended in a nightmare. The festival itself was lovely, filled with vibrant performances and delicious food outdoors in Rotary Square. However, our afternoon took a turn for the worse when the weather turned. At around 3:45 PM, heavy rain and strong winds forced us to seek shelter inside the market building. Unfortunately, instead of finding refuge, we were met with hostility from the very beginning. An employee, who I recognized from Doris Family Produce, accosted us in a loud and aggressive manner. Despite being clearly drenched from the downpour, we were told to leave and re-enter through another door. His behavior was completely inappropriate and left us feeling unwelcome and bewildered. We opted to disregard his unreasonable demand due to the weather conditions. Hoping to salvage our afternoon, we grabbed a coffee at the Piping Kettle. However, just before 4:00 PM, a booming announcement shattered our brief moment of peace. The entire market was abruptly closing at 4:00 PM sharp, and everyone was instructed to leave immediately. This sudden closure, with no regard for the ongoing festival or the severe weather outside, was incredibly inconvenient and inconsiderate. As the clock struck 4:00 PM, a security guard approached our table and, with no empathy for our situation, practically evicted us from the market. Forced back into the pouring rain, we were left feeling vulnerable and frustrated. To add insult to injury, the area surrounding Covent Garden Market is not exactly the safest. On our way back to our car, we had to navigate through aggressive panhandlers and people using drugs. This experience was the complete opposite of the enjoyable and inclusive atmosphere we were hoping to find at the Multicultural Festival. This entire ordeal left us questioning the state of downtown London. Has Covent Garden Market abandoned its role as a welcoming community hub? The hostility from staff, the inconsiderate closure, and the unsafe surroundings paint a concerning picture. If management at Covent Garden Market doesn't prioritize customer service, address safety concerns, and implement better communication strategies, then this once-vibrant market will continue to disappoint visitors.
