Story

Positioned down a peaceful lane one mile outside the Shropshire town is Market Drayton Golf Club. Established in 1906 it is a beautiful course with elevations that afford spectacular views of the surrounding countryside. Market Drayton manages to produce a little something for everybody within its 18 holes parkland layout. Played on 24/5 on a lads golf trip. Amazing course in great condition. Have to plot your way on each hole, no lashing away at driver. Very friendly members and staff.

Love this place and especially through the winter but only marking it down a score due to poor communication from the pro shop. Booked over the phone yesterday as a visitor because my home club has winter work being done so there are holes closed and temp greens. Zero mention when booking about similar work being done here. Zero mention in the pro shop about any work being done or holes closed before we teed off. Tee off on the first hole and before we can play our approach shot green keepers squeeze in the gap between the group infront  there was nobody behind us for a few tee times and start hollotining the greens. Then one of the greens staff aggressively gestured that the hole was closed and we should go to the second. The same team of green keepers finished one hole and forgot to put the flag/cup back onto the green meaning we had to play into the green blind. With proper communication I would’ve just stayed at my home club and therefor not have had to pay to play. Disappointing to say the least. Just tell people what’s happening when they’re booking or going out! Simple.

Despite the rain we have had recently the course was very playable and not sodden.

Always a pleasure to play here!  Course is challenging, especially as a beginner, but you're made to feel extremely welcome by everyone there! I was a member last year but didn't renew due to time constraints on my end.

Great day at Market Drayton GC, staff opened up early for us on arrival to serve us a great breakfast ....the course was in excellent condition considering the recent weather and was enjoyed by all...nice beer afterwards in the clubhouse too would definitely return for great winter golf ..and in summer next year.

A nice course to play, well worth a visit. Friendly staff.

Market Drayton golf course is a members club. It was the County Chronicle Cup, teams of 4 from clubs, over 80 players took part. The course was in fantastic condition, the clubhouse staff were fantastic.
