Went to Maplin with my son and his tower to buy some upgrades to enhance his gaming. Was greeted to the store straight away by a member of staff, who turned out to be the store manager. Explained that i was looking to enhance my sons PC so he can play online games. Ended up getting a new motherboard and chipset bundle, a graphics card and power supply my son also managed to swindle a new gaming headset out of me. The manager was not pushy in anyway to what to go for and explained the lower priced items and the differences between each item as they increased in price. The manager then offered to put it all into my sons tower at no extra cost. He then preceded to do this right in front of me and my son explaining step by step what was what, and what went where. He was efficient and knowledgeable and took his time explaining step by step as he did this. I would like to thank the manager, i think his name was Anthony, for his help and advice. 10 out of 10 for great customer service.
Excellent customer service, I took back a de-humudifier purchased two months ago which had stopped working and they immediately changed it for a new one. Unlike many other major electrical stores I could mention, no ' it will have to go back for repair' and being without the product for months on end while they fob you off constantly! Well done Maplin it was a very refreshing change for things to go so smoothly and simply
When you enter a shop the assistant askes "do you need help?" you answer "no thanks" then he ambushes you 3 minutes later it ruins the experience. I don't get to Maplins very often and when I do I like a just browse to see what stuff I haven't got. Chris the over enthusiastic assistant needs to work out when someone says "just browsing" it means leave me alone. Some people might be glad of the interaction and advice, however I just wanted to look around and not be told your stories that are supposed to encourage me to buy something.
Staff didn't really have a clue how to help me, I went in with a simple problem, asked for some help as to what item to buy to solve the problem and was told that there was nothing I could by to fix it when clearly there was because with the help of Google I have now fixed it. If the guy didn't know or didn't want to help me he should have just said.
Maplins has quite often everything you need in terms of electrics and PCs but the reason for 4stars is quite often it comes at a hefty premium for being local and nearly, if not everything can be found online for cheaper. But the staff are nice, decent parking, easier to swap faulty goods immediately, but unfortunately in the current climate, it's cheaper online.
Very Good Service,plenty of help, and the store is well laid out so things are easy to find, will always go here first even for small items.
This is a great store if you need something electronic or gadget-y, but is over priced and you can get cheaper else where. however they do have some interesting products you wouldn't think to look for
Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. I like the meet and greet as you enter the store. Welcoming, but without pressure.
I understand sales personnel trying to get a sale but 4 members asking if you need help within 2 mins of entering is too much. Comes across somewhat intense.
Still a good shop, to find some gadgets and electronics. Good parking option. But, they have now rather higher prices compared to internet online shops.
