This oriental restaurant is tucked away near a few other trendy bars and have only known about it for a few years due to word of mouth, otherwise it’s quite easy to miss. The dynamic decorations along with authentic Chinese cuisine make it a great place for a pre-night out place to dine with a group. It’s also very unique in the ways your order and the staff are very helpful! The food was really tasty, although I don’t think the prices matched too fairly in my opinion. I would argue that some items are expensive and some are decently priced? But overall it’s quite hard to gauge and by the time the meal ends and you pay for the bill everything seems to have added up. I do recommend this place for the experience and enjoying the general vibe and decorum as it really shines and reflects an Eastern eatery, but I don’t find myself wanting to come back more than once a year. I only come here for special occasions and there’s usually other opinion that myself or family, friends and co-workers prefer. But highly recommend if you haven’t been before, you’ll enjoy what Man’s Market has to offer!
The food is nice and came out fast, especially the sharing starter, however the main came in a takeaway box which I find it hard to eat out of. Also the waitress is hard to get an attention. Also there's a service charge which make the meal deal more expensive than it advertised.Food: 4/5
Liked the food. Staff were nice. Shame they couldn't be bothered to clean. Felt VERY much lacking a Front Of House Manager this evening, as the young staff on duty half-arsedly wiped already clean tables whilst leaving piles of chopsticks spilled in the floor, blue-roll and cleaning products left scattered and food left on dirty tables. Saw a table of eight people walk in and walk back out. Real shame coz the food was quite nice. Wouldn't go back though.
We went there as we were attracted by the Chinese/ Hong Kong decorations and food at the restaurant. Service was bad, even the restaurant is not busy, we were waiting to be served with tap water, waiting for the food to be served which we can see that the food were sitting on the kitchen’s counter for awhile. The waitress is not sure about the vegetarian options for the dim sum set. And as i am from Hong Kong I can tell you that this place is not totally authentic. We ordered vegetarian dim sum set, aubergine bao, firecrackers cauliflower wings and garlic broccoli. The vegetarian “dim sum” set is not dim sum, it’s just bunch of deep fried items, which is very disappointing. Aubergine bao is ok. Firecracker Cauliflower wings is absolutely tasteless and oily. Garlic broccoli is poorly done, there is no garlic in it, it’s just like some boiled broccoli soaked in soy sauce. The portions of the dim sum set and broccoli are exceptionally small with that price. The whole meal is just a bunch of very oily deep fried items. And forgot to mention about deep fried lotus seed appetizer, that was also over cooked and a bit burned. The meal costs £20 each and £40 total. It’s not worth it at all with the quality of food and service. It is So overpriced. Don’t go there if you want authentic Hong Kong food. Very limited and poor options for vegetarian or vegan.
Did the bottomless brunch at the beginning of Dec and it was outstanding. Best brunch I have ever been to. The staff were so good and outdid themselves, even though it was packed we were never without drinks for long and the staff were attentive and lovely. The food was incredible and good portion sizes and it was just delicious. Absolutely worth it and you need to try it. Booking again very soon.
I've been here twice now with neither time being great. The venue looks great and resembles a Hong Kong outdoor street Market. The service is speedy and I like the cards on pins requesting service! However that is the extent of the pros, the food was not particularly good with the curries lacking a punch and other items being dry/over or under cooked. The cocktails were great to look at and visually great However they were under strength with alcohol Overall great venue with good atmosphere but food was lacking
Service and venue was amazing, food was below average. Tofu fried to within an inch of its life, dry chicken, all the sauces tasted floury and chemical, prawn cracker dipping sauce tasted like warmed up baked bean juice. I don’t know if we came on a bad day because the reviews are great? Staff were kind and took items off the bill as we didn’t enjoy them at all.
Surprised and impressed! Quality food which was inexpensive and served quick - cocktails were a little on the dear side but the focus was definitely the food, which was a solid 9/10. I also love the efficiency of ordering on a notepad above the table - makes things simpler.
Amazing food and drink will definitely visit again. And quirky urinals Food: 5/5
I called in just to meet friends who were on a Chinese bottomless brunch. It was packed out. My friends said the food was nice, plenty of it. Did bottles of fizz and cans of lager. If you wanted cocktails, had to pay a bit more for the brunch. They said they would definitely go backService: 3/5
