Spent all day phoning to try to get doctor to send district nurse out for my wife recently discharged from hospital. Carers attending every day also trying to contact district nurse re wife but also told doctor had to authorise this Due to my continued persistence trying to get past the receptionist who obviously is a qualified GP they finally authorised District nurse .Now having to deal with another issue regarding Doctor going to phone back but never bothered had a text saying if condition is no better in 7 days ring back This surgery is an absolute shambles would not recommend to anyone!!!
I am new to this surgery and am very impressed . Have only had telephone appointments so far but prompt and caring attention has been given. Thank you so much .
Klinik form filled at 8am, face to face appt 10.15 first antibiotic taken at 11am. Can't fault such great service ., well done Leatside
Waited over 4 weeks for a signature on a document, every time I call up I keep being told to call back as they don’t have an update yet. In the amount of time they have spent telling me that nothings been done, they could have signed the document easily. To wait on the phone for half an hour every time just to be shut down straight away by rude and unhelpful staff is outrageous. I will be switching doctors surgeries.
Brilliant surgery! I have been with the surgery all my life and they are coping so well with the constantly increasing pressure and demands. The klinik system works brilliantly, triaging the most clinically severe cases first and making sure those who are sickest get the help they need and are a priority. The reception staff are very helpful assisting those without internet access and filling out the forms on their behalf. Definitely a much better system than phoning multiple times on the day to try and get an appointment. My prescription requests are always processed very quickly and accurately. The reception staff are always friendly, welcoming and very helpful. The doctors are outstanding. I would especially like to thank Dr Simpson for her kindness and support when I was going through a hard time. I could not fault this surgery and how they are coping working within the NHS during these very stressful times. You are all doing amazingly! Thank you for all that you do.

Honestly what happened! Did all go mad after COVID! I'm not great with technology and I'm sure many of the older generation are the same and many don't even have mobiles, let alone computers. The online forms are a bloody nightmare to fill out! If you dare go in and speak to them, they look at you like you are mad, how dare you! You can no longer book an appointment at the desk and I wonder how people alone with no technology get an appointment. It's all so impersonal!!! One of the appointments I did manage to get I was sent to barncoose and that was weird, I'm not certain the person I saw was even a Dr! She certainly seemed disinterested and generally annoyed to be there. Two forms and an extra message later to say I'm getting worse and how long will it be before I can atleast speak to someone.....nothing! I do get the health service is under huge strain but they appear to have loads of people behind the reception desk, why did they merge when they clearly have too many patients. I so miss the days where you saw the same Dr and they knew you and took the time to listen and not make you feel like you were a nuisance! How many people will die as a result of not being seen or having to wait and then the condition is untreatable. Something is very wrong if you are being told there is a six week wait. Despite being told I may need further tests if it did not improve, it hasn't, despite the fact I'm now struggling to work let alone walk, Im in pain, depressed and have to wait six weeks for answers. Yep we are screwed, we have become a third world country when it comes to our health service! Broken and I can't even register with another surgery as I think they've all buckled under the pressure because they ignore your request to register with them too! Aaaaaaaa when did we forget just to be able to communicate, no wonder everyone is depressed ;'
Wanted to make an appointment to see a doctor the online system was closed as it is most of the time usually with a message to try again tomorrow at 8am, I had to pickup my prescription from the surgery so called into reception which didn't have anybody waiting, I asked to make an appointment to see a doctor but was told I couldn't, I would have to do this online, I explained that the online booking system wasn't available when I attempted last she told me it's currently available we haven't turned it off yet or I could telephone, telephoning isn't suitable for me as I work and cannot use my phone while working the only time I can is lunchtime but they also close so there telephone is off. I feel the service at Leatside is very poor and cannot see it ever improving, I am now considering trying another surgery.
GP's tell patients how much they are costing the surgery when prescribing medication that they require for critical conditions.
We have been with this surgery well over a decade. It was an outstanding surgery until the covid and then getting us all on the Klinik system. Personally think that it's got worse rather than better. The Drs, Nurses,And the nurses who take your blood are great. Dr Cowen, Dr jack & a couple of the others are great. Wish unfortunately the system now tells you that they will see you as and when they feel fit. It's better to have Dr Cowen. Down the health centre as easier to get in when you eventually get an appointment I have an appointment this Thursday morning and I'm hoping to get a date for my steroid injections in my knees. I know that you are all very busy but please can you listen to us patients who can't understand the machine... Thanks for your hard work.. It's frustrating that when a Dr says get an app They Dr's and nurses are great when yo can get to see them. Please could the system change to he able to phone to make an appointment .
