Reception staff are incredibly rude. They could remove you from the register themselves by mistake, take ages to put you back on, totally disregard your health in the meantime, but still have the nerve to give you attitude. I am convinced that GP surgeries all across the UK simply do not train their receptionists, hence why they do not have a drop of empathy in them.
I called to book an appointment and after holding for a short while a very polite nice lady answered. She got me an appointment within the week at King George surgery. When I got there I checked in at the door. The nurse who saw me was lovely! She was knowledgeable, kind, helpful.nThe whole process was so easy and I am so grateful for these people working for NHS. I know how tough it is for them at the moment
Awful GP practice. Disorganised, rude, unhelpful and appointments magically disappear. Staff don’t care that includes medical staff. Don’t you dare be ‘late’ by a couple of minutes because otherwise the staff member seeing you would have miraculously left the building and gone home for the day in the 2 minutes lateness window Yeah good one!! I’m reporting this practice.
Credit where due, a few visits in for procedures, Dr Duggan, Lorraine, Dianne and the receptionists have all been super helpful, personable & cheerful in their work. Thanks so much x
This is a great surgery. The receptionists are always helpful and friendly despite being very busy and the doctors and nurses are lovely. They are reassuring and proactive in my experience. I don’t use the service much be when I do have had phone appointments relatively quickly and face to face in reasonable times. I haven’t noticed and negative changes since the merger - and hopefully that was just due to settling down of two teams and processes. Of course resources are a challenge for the whole NHS so if people were nice to the team who are trying to help us patients I think it would be nice. Also if you can’t attend an appointment do try and let them know as early as possible so someone else can use it.
