First visit to Manor Farm with the family and we loved it. It’s mainly for thd under 11’s but there also a lot for the adults to look at and learn . Today was a special day with birds of prey displays, bouncy castles and petting animals. Plenty of three parking. The only moan, you can pay cash to enter but not once inside which meant, the grandchildren couldn’t spend there pocket money in the shop.
A great family day out whatever the weather. Lots to see and do. Farm animals, tractors, victorian cottage, soft play barn, and a decent cafe. Thoroughly recommend.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Very nice, kids friendly place. Usually, some special events happen. On this occasion, it was all about sheep's. Extra activities related feeding sheep's, face painting, shearing, and much more. Only downside ... more different animals would be nice. We visited a few years back and there were defenetly more animals. Also nice friendly staff round the farm.
Great location with a plethora of activities and things to suffice all ages. We went in Easter holidays and it wasn't too crowded or populated to be uncomfortable. Plenty of parking for all, with a free parking service end of your visit. Even for bigger vehicles like Campervans or disability access. The village is like stepping back in time with an Anderson shelter, multiple building all set and dressed to the period and a large open vegetable garden. Really a spectacle for history buffs. The animals are plenty and well located, great walkabout with loads to see and maybe pet depending how close they are. The donkeys are awesome. Massive play area, indoor and out, with a large toilet facility. The coffee shop/cafe was lacking due to 1 machine working, barely any food and a bit grubby all on the surfaces. However the staff and the people about were great. Overall a good visit, worth going and plenty to see regardless how many times you go.
A really lovely farm - spacious and lots to do. I wish there was a little bit more on offer for the youngest ones in terms of play space but, that said, there is enough and what they have is really good. It isn't just a farm, it has historical context, outdoor and indoor play space, ride on cars, woodland area with play and lots of animals and some feeding opportunities. We visit at least three times a month and my two love it! The food options are limited, I suggest taking plenty of snacks/picnic, particularly if you have fussy children!
Enjoyed it very much. Marilyn, the mother pig, and her piglets were so cute. The chickens were funny. Sheep were chilled in the fields. Shame there is no softplay for disabilities or for older than 3 yrs of age.
Lovely place to visit. Well priced even the gift shop! and makes for a nice day out. The staff were very helpful and informative.
17th May 2024. I left here totally relaxed and knew I would return one day. The staff here are really friendly if people take time to stop and chat. I only read after I had left that I wasn't supposed to pet the animals. There is a very gentle giant in the shape of a really friendly cart horse here and she was more than happy to make friends. You can also visit the farm house is really are worth a visit. The farmhouse is divided into two parts, a Victorian farmhouse the other part is furnished and equipped to represent what it would look like during World War Two .Part of the house has been converted into a Victorian style school. I remember sitting behind a school desk that looks exactly like these, complete with only stains inside. Yes I did look. There are a lot of exhibits I remember as a child. My mother had a mangle that was used to squeeze water out of freshly washed clothes . A lot of families didn't have a bath in those days, let alone a shower, and resorted to the tin bath. One of these is on display My mum used a freestanding cupboard identical to the yellow one on display. The days of the outside toilet and coal shed are still memories of people of my generation. Walking into the wartime cottage brought back memories of war's I have been in. They are more recent but things like this tend to bring back memories that are usually stored away at the back of my mind. Don't miss the stables and workshops either. In my humble opinion it is all part of learning about our history. The first tractor I ever drove was a Massey Ferguson 205. It didn't have power steering and the seat was rock hard. This type of vehicle were still in use in the Middle East in the mid 1990's. I did drive a rather more modern one as well. It had power steering and a windscreen as well as a roof. They helped with the sand and grit. I spent around three hour's here after a walk through the woods from Burseldon and yes it was worth it. One last thing. The lady on the reception desk remembered my name when I asked her call me Ian rather than sir when I waited to pay to visit the farm. We chatted when it was time to leave and she told me about working on the farm ,and I realised she had remembered my name. That's class.
As always, an excellent day spent at the farm. The farm has got a whole lot bigger & better. We fed the pigs, the sheep at the allotted times & saw some new born piglets. Very cute. A lovely place to visit & on our doorstep too.
This place is amazing, we came with a 12 year old and a 3 year old plus two 42 year olds and we absolutely loved it. We saw all the animals, had a go at archery and a lovely lunch in the cafe! Highly recommended for a day out!
