Warm and friendly, accommodating staff, mates and I ordered for what was meant to be a 2-3 person lunch, all 5 of us couldn't even finish it. Was feeling all BearGrylls-ish and worth it to the core! Overall, it was just fantastic, delish, & a great experience with here in Man vs Food.
Well priced, excellent and friendly service. Be warned the portion sizes are not small! Food was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed it when we were there, only minor issue is parking. Will definitely be going again.
Given the food quality and quantity this place is great value for money. This was our second trip here. I had brisket, skinny fries and pit beans. My partner had the chicken legend burger, skinny fries and cornbread. All piping hot to the table within about 20 minutes of arriving. The brisket was beautiful, so tender it fell apart on the fork with amazing bark on the fat cap of the meat. Pit beans are awesome too. You have to try them.

Great food but outstandingly bad service. Booked a table for 5 for a friend's birthday and after finishing our mains, we were left for 45 minutes with dirty plates on the table before we eventually got the attention of a waitress. Asked if we can have the table cleared and the dessert menu to then wait another 15 mins before a different waitress came by and asked if we wanted dessert. By this time we had gone way past patient and casting for desert so just got the bill and left in disgust. This was all on a weekday lunch time when the restaurant was very quiet with only 2 other tables occupied by couples so hate to think what the service would be like if they were actually busy. Real shame as the food was really nice.
4 of us shared a 4 person sharing platter. I've never seen so much food in my life. The food was all fantastic and arrived quickly. Wouldn't say the place is easily accessible for certain people though. We had a pushchair and there was a lift, but had to carry it down 3 steps to get to the seating area. Not a problem for me but others may struggle, particularly wheelchair users.
Extremely good when you just want loads of food as the portion sizes are more fair. However, both this restaurant and the one in South Shields lack significantly in quality. The food doesn't particularly taste nice, you just get loads of it.
