What a great Fish and Chip shop, looks good and sparklingly clean.  Chips were not greasy but golden and cooked perfectly. My fish was chunky, snow white with golden crisp batter and all so tasty. Good sized portions and nicely presented. The Sevice was excellent with attention to detail from happy smiling ladies who obviuosly take great pride in their work. Perfect food, perfect service  making a perfect experience.

Chips were beautiful, not at all greasy, fish was tasty, really chunky. Their batter is a triumph. The owners were lovely and very accommodating, they even gave my mum samples of curry to help her choose. Definitely 5*

Came all the way up to Merthyr from Caerphilly because we had been told how good Mammo’s fish & chips are! It was definitely worth the trip ! Outstanding and my other half and I consider ourselves fish and chip connoisseurs !  10 out of 10 for quality, quantity and price!   Fish cooked to order and it was the best I’ve had in a long time - perfect batter! Also really liked the decor and the fact that Mammo’s is doing its bit to reduce plastic waste by using cardboard food trays and paper bags.  We will definitely make Mammo’s our go to establishment when we want a treat of top notch fish & Chips and efficient, friendly service !  Thanks ladies.

Unfortunately I didn't enjoy my meal from the new owner. Cod wasn't cooked all the way through and was full of bones. Curry sauce was cold. They need to improve considerably to compete with the other chip shops in the area, I hope they do.

Me and my boyfriend went here recently and the chips were fabulous. They were fresh and chunky . My boyfriend a big fish shop fan and has put this shop in his top 5 places too eat with crispy cod in Gelli and fintans in Whitchurch. Definitely going back soon as both enjoyed our meals .

We have been going here since Catherine opened.  Have to say since selling on its gone rapidly downhill. The curry sauce is now one flavour and not tasty at all Placed an order tonight for collection only to find it had been given to somebody else - they paid for one fish and got two! The young girl was in tears but too late -that's the result of leaving youngsters to run the shop! Sadly will not be returning.

A beautiful, clean and extremely friendly chip shop. The lady serving is very polite, chatty and friendly. The chips are the traditional chunky chips which are lovely, fish is really tasty nice to have a traditional chip shop in Merthyr

Fish and chips took 25 minutes not delivery - ordered in-shop, couldn't stomach the batter - uncooked and doughy where it touched the fish - and fish itself was slimy with raw batter and not cooked through so had to bin it. Not exactly cheap either. Will never eat here again.

Omg, being a Yorkshire lass it’s hard to find a chippy that is as good as Whitby fish and chips, well I have just found dream chippy in Merthyr. The chips weren’t dry, the fish was lightly battered and perfectly cooked and still a little juicy, they do homemade tartare sauce and it’s to die for. I now live in Blackwood but will be coming here for my fish and chips fix, astounding food and no plastic bags, containers or forks used. I rate this place 5*+

Went there today, best fish & chips I've ever had, staff were more than welcoming and the place was very clean. Definitely be back there soon.
