Pizzeria Mamma Mia is a true Italian family restaurant founded by Bruno Zanna. The restaurant is located just a short walk from Bedford’s town centre – it has a loyal clientèle and a friendly atmosphere which has been thriving since it opened in 1985.

The family and staff at Mamma Mia’s work extremely hard to ensure customers have an enjoyable visit. A nice, cosy, family run restaurant. We were welcomed and well seated. The waiters are kind. The menu is big and rich. The restaurant decor reflects the italian orrigin although the age of this restaurant is very easy to be felt. We ordered a vegetarian pizza, a fettucini with mushroom and brocolli, a breaded mozzarella fried and soaked in napolitana sauce, and fries side dish. The orders came quickly. The vegetarian pizza is tasty, it is good. The fettucini is amazing, one of the best fettucini dishes I have ever had. The fried breaded mozzarella was below expectations. The french fries were too salty. It felt like they were soaked in sea salt. The prices are reasonable. As an overall experience, it is a very nice italian restaurant, maybe I will be a frequent customer for their fettucini.
Very accommodating. We had a large group for a sports club meal but they were great. Staff regularly refreshed drinks, the food arrived promptly and was excellent and all the staff were cheerful and polite. The layout of the dining area is good too as they are able to separate the larger tables from the smaller ones so big parties like ours don't spoil a quiet evening for others. Excellent value and choice too. Something for everyone, even those that aren't keen fans of Italian food.
Went in for around 8pm, totally forgot to book however it was busy but not too busy. We asked for a table for 2, we got asked if we'd booked to which we said no. This was responded to with a sign and a bit of a panic. They found us a table which was right in the middle of everything, next to the loos and the bar. Fair enough we didn't book however there was a fair amount of free tables even when we were finished. However the food was very nice. The decor was in theme with the restaurant itself which is always nice. I would go again but maybe next time book in advance!
Absolutely stuff. I had the meatballs with spaghetti had to take half of it home there was so much. Left enough space for the lemon cheesecake, delicious will definitely be back soon. The staff are very polite and friendly.
Lovely family run restaurant. The service is friendly and on point. The food is delicious and served promptly. They offer very reasonable lunchtime specials. Highly recommended.
Took the girlfriend here last night, great atmosphere, friendly staff, food was really nice and the restaurant looks awesome and clean. We both had a very enjoyable evening and will definitely be coming back. Knocking a off a star though because I did not get offered any parmesan for my pasta.
Wonderful family restaurant, all food made to order so a wait is inevitable, don't be surprised, its the italian way, to take your time over food. Food tastes great and the price whilst not cheap is definately comparable. The staff are friendly, happy and helpful.
We needed a quick bite and it was a Friday evening and very busy - but my wife and I were served promptly - just a simple main course; pizza and pasta. Delicious, pPrompt service, not costly - and thus highly recommended. [They have their own 'tradtional' pizza oven.]
I love this place, it's one of my all time favourites. Traditional family run Italian restaurant. Food is always great and so is the service and atmosphere
The rudeness of it all! The restaurant was almost empty around 12pm today. We politely asked if we could get a cup of coffee. The waiter said : "No" . I insisted saying we could have it at the counter or at the back terrace if they had one. The waiter said "No, we don't have a terrace..." but they do have a counter. He told us to go to Rooster' s... I just can't get over it. I am giving 1 star because I can't give 0 star.
