I was visiting from out of town and came with my kid who loves Asian food. We had the prawn dumplings, the sweet and spicy wings, and the noodles. I thought it was OK, but he LOVED it and can't wait to return. It is a cool little stall in a funky market with great and speedy service. That said, I wouldn't go out of my way to come here, but worth a stop if you're nearby. Kid-friendliness: My big kid loved it!
I don't know if I ordered the wrong dish or what! But honestly some of the worst food I have ever paid for. I ordered the Sweet Chilli Chicken with rice, It tastes like Iceland chicken nuggets, with plain white rice and store bought sweet chilli sauce drizzled on top. The food was so dry and bland I started to wonder if I had Covid, it tasted like a uni meal from a student living on a budget who doesn't know how to cook, nobody at my table finished their plate. I rarely ever leave bad reviews because I'd rather take the time to write about and celebrate good restaurants and bars, but I genuinely felt insulted paying for this! Do not go here. Also the service was terrible
Good, not great. I used to visit MamaLan back in the day but this was my first time coming back ina few years. I had always loved it and rated it highly. But I think now it's not as good as it used to be, service was a bit slow, considering we were the only people in the restaurant but the staff were really friendly. And my partners food was cold, her vegan soup lukewarm, once they heated it back up it was all good but overall the menu is slipping a bit on quality and flavour, still tasty but not as incredible as it used to be.
Adelina is amazing and accommodating. I had the chicken bai and prawn dumplings. Everything was hot and fresh.
Came here with my Chinese wife. Service very friendly and ordered the lunch special. Wow amazing !! Fried chicken bao was cooked so well as well as the dumplings. Ignore the bad reviews. Stupid yuppies don't have a clue.
We tried pretty much all the menu. We liked the prawn bao and the sesame chicken salad. We were not that impressed with the beef noodle soup or the chicken bao. Both needed more flavour. Service was quick and friendly
Chefs kiss, real authentic Chinese Street food. The pork dumplings we had were unbelievably good, better than dumplings I have had first hand in Beijing. Lovely service, myself and my girlfriend highly recommend if you're passing through Brixton Market.
Visited on Saturday. Very slow service, waiting roughly 25 mins for our miso tofu rice and 2 chicken boas. The chili mayo used in the bao was sour for some reason, miso tofu rice had about 4 pieces of tofu inside it and 1 piece of broccoli, what a joke. No value for money. Won’t be coming back. Had high hopes for this place as a collegue suggested we go there. Never again. Not recommended
Ordered tofu noodle soup, ordered plenty of times before but this time it was so different !! I’m pretty sure they put in chicken broth in the tofu soup, as there was no mushroom and veggies other than tofu, and the broth tasted like chicken. Being a vegetarian I do not appreciate this. Do not recommend at all.
Recently opened after being closed for a while. Seems like new staff. Quality and service used to be good however after recent visits I’ve noticed service lacks quality and it seems they have changed their suppliers as the chicken they used to use for rice bowl was actual chicken and not chunks of processed meat which I got upon my most recent visit. Seems they were closed for a good reason and it should stay that way with the way they have cut down on quality and raised prices
