The food was decent, but not quite as spectacular as some of the reviews had led me to expect. The sashimi was fresh, but it didn't have as much natural flavour as I was hoping for. The Spider Roll Deluxe was too large; I would have preferred smaller bites with more pieces, which would have made it easier to share. There were extra ingredients compared to normal spider roll, but I didn’t expect the size to be big. The nigiri was a bit disappointing, as the rice portions were too small and the seaweed was unfortunately stale. However, the grilled salmon was nicely done. The service was efficient, though it didn’t stand out as anything exceptional. Overall, it was an okay experience, but not quite up to the hype.
A lovely little local Japanese serving fresh authentic Japanese dishes. Prices are very reasonable and the quality is excellent. The staff are all friendly and attentive

Sushi Bar Makoto presents itself as a high-end sushi destination, but my recent dining experience left much to be desired. While the freshness of the ingredients was evident, the overall flavor profile of the dishes was disappointingly bland, making the meal feel underwhelming and overpriced. One of the main issues was that the sushi, though clearly handmade with care, lacked the vibrant flavors and intricate seasoning that one expects from a quality sushi bar. Each bite tasted as if it could have been made from ingredients purchased at Waitrose, but at a fraction of the cost. This lack of distinctive taste made it difficult to justify the premium prices on the menu. Adding to the lackluster experience was the ambiance. The restaurant is quite dark, which might be intended to create an intimate setting but instead felt uninviting. The dim lighting made it hard to appreciate the presentation of the dishes, and the overall atmosphere was more somber than sophisticated. While Sushi Bar Makoto excels in the freshness of its ingredients, it falls short in delivering a memorable culinary experience. For the price, one would expect a more flavorful and engaging meal, paired with a more welcoming ambiance. Unfortunately, it seems like this sushi bar relies too heavily on the quality of its ingredients without delivering the depth of flavor and atmosphere that truly defines exceptional sushi dining.
Very authentic Japanese food. But casual and reasonable price. Many Japanese customers were there when I went. Definitely come back again. May 2024. Revisited. Sea food salads has many kind of sashimi on top with sesame sauce. Silver Sashimi selection is 5 different kinds of thick cut sashimi which you won't be disappointed. Drink menu is not variety, very basic. Bento box is very popular.
UNA DON lunch set comes with salad and miso soup £18.50. The portion is Large. taste same as Japan. Perfect place for friends catching up over meals.Food: 5/5

Delicious Japanese izakaya-like restaurant by Turnham Green Station. Owned and run by Japanese staff, one can truly appreciate the atmosphere and the local cuisine. Very good value for money, with large hearty portions of donburi and a la carte. Will definitely be back!
