Story

Makan Café has been around for many years now, serving up a whole host of Malaysian specialities in relaxed and informal café style surroundings. It is a great pit stop if you're wandering around Portobello market every Saturday and Sunday.

You can choose the food from the selection of Halal ready meal dishes with variation for vegetarian and non-vegetarians or ala carte (order by selected menu). If you are not sure of what you need, we can recommend a combination which will definitely mouth watering and you will come back for more!

We are expanding our business and serving all day Halal English Breakfast Menu from morning till night. Just drop by if you fancy a change of taste.

Such a friendly atmosphere with great food not the biggest menu out there but its reasonable priced and proper delicious. Been there a few times now and its never disappointed.

The roti canai is a guaranteed source of happiness. Thank you!

The food was really tasty and value for money. Me and 2 friends order rice dish with 3 curry based toppings, 3 samosas and 3 drinks can cost £32. The staff serving us was friendly and go again.

Very traditional and tasty food, it is like original local Malaysia street food when I was in the Malaysia. Very friendly customer service. Relax and cosy

Had the worst nasi lemak in london today.  The supposedly chicken rendang and sambal did not taste of any spices at all - all you taste is sourness and for £7.20 is a rip off.   Even the budget nasi lemak in  Malaysian Hall taste better for half the price.
