I have recently just moved in and think Shirley deserves a special mention for how helpful and kind she was. She helped me bring my stuff to the top floor on what felt like the world’s hottest day.
My application was cancelled due to something I had no control over and I’ve lost £160 resulting in that. The application takes way too long and half of the guarantor requirements are unnecessary. Also after I read all those other reviews about maintenance, lifts and no hot water. I’m glad it didn’t work out.
Worst accommodation ever DO NOT BOOK. The whole accommodation had no hot water for a month, the floors leak water consistently, the accommodation managers and receptionists are rude and don’t care to help fix or resolve the issues. Packages get stolen and left outside. Don’t waste your money. Literally worst experience ever

My stay at Maid Marian House student accommodation in Nottingham has been persistently marred by ongoing issues, prompting me to share my regrettable experience. The most pressing concern has been the extended non-functionality of the lift, which has persisted for three weeks or more. This poses a significant problem, especially for residents with mobility challenges or disabilities. The inconvenience of climbing numerous flights of stairs daily, including when accessing essential areas like the laundry on the -1 floor, has been a constant source of frustration. The lift's recurring breakdowns suggest a serious maintenance issue that hasn't been adequately addressed, impacting the accommodation's accessibility and safety. Unfortunately, this is not the first instance of lift malfunction, highlighting a concerning pattern that needs urgent attention. Equally troubling is the unreliable hot water supply in the rooms. On multiple occasions, including the last four days, hot water has been non-existent. This has made routine activities like showering and dishwashing nearly impossible, with water temperatures reaching uncomfortably cold levels. What exacerbates these problems is the sluggish response from the management. Despite reporting these issues, there has been a significant delay in addressing and rectifying the recurring lift problems and the inconsistent hot water supply. The lack of urgency and efficiency in resolving critical living conditions has significantly diminished the overall quality of my stay. As I navigate the challenges of this accommodation, I feel compelled to share my experience with others. The persistent issues, coupled with the slow response from management, make it challenging to recommend Maid Marian House to potential residents. If you have other accommodation options, it might be worth exploring them to ensure a more comfortable and trouble-free living experience.
Perhaps there worst flat I've ever stayed in. Had multiple instances were there has been no hot water, for almost a month then main stairway and fire exit didn't have any lights and the lift has broken multiple times. I'm about to spend a weekend with no lights or proper running water due to the boiler leaking and Xenia students has provided no other solution then the engineers will be back Monday.
The staff - Monica and Shirley in particular - have always gone above and beyond to support and address any issues I had. The location is also convenient, with easy access to public transportation, shops, and campus facilities.
Affordable and close to school. I really enjoyed my stay here. Shirley was always very nice to me.
Great service with the building manager, i asked for the printing service nearby at the reception and she offered me to print it out for me instead since it’s just a few pages.
I’ve been here with no hot water for a week, I’m severely disabled and cannot access any other facilities to shower and wash my dishes. The water is freezing and triggers my condition, I’ve been to the hospital because of how negligently this building is run. Do not recommend.
