Super clean, friendly staff, knowledgeable staff! Fish dishes looked amazing. But we enjoyed the ham, egg, pineapple and chips. The vegetarian option of goats cheese salad. Ham was super tasty, chips amazing and the goats cheese salad, so tasty! Enjoyed a vintage Sherry trifle, sadly no photos of the apple crumble as hubby dived in before I could take a picture. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Very professional and friendly staff. We were lucky to get a table upstairs, great view. The food was absolutely DELICIOUS. We ordered regular fish and chips haddock with mushy peas. They had some scrumptious desserts but we were totally full. Maybe next time, as we will definitely be going back! Making my mouth water now just thinking about that lovely crispy batter!!
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal; Could not fault a single thing! The staff were very friendly and everything was delicious. They accommodated my shellfish allergy very well clearly marked my food to avoid cross contamination. In addition, the winter menu was great value 3 courses for £22.50pp. Would return without a doubt!
Really enjoyed our meal. Had fresh crab and garlic mushrooms to start, fish & chips plus sides for mains and ice cream for desert! All the food tasted great and we were stuffed. The menu had a lot of choice and we will definitely be back to try more!
An another Famous Fish & Chips in Whitby, I have been recommended of this place from several friends both local & who travel here before. We were lucky with no queue on Tuesday, still a wait time of 10 minutes which we don't mind for hot fresh cook. Cod with chips are great. Cod is very fresh and very nice. Cod is white, flaky with mild flavour. Chips are very nice. Staff is welcoming.
Lovely friendly staff. Took a while for the food to arrive but it's not a problem they were so busy. I had garlic mushrooms vegan. Beautiful. My daughter had a burgar and my other half had the lasagna. Both were enjoyed.Food: 4/5
We had a cold seafood platter & deep fried whitebait. It was very fresh and delicious, also a generous portion for two to share. Service was very attentive and efficient. The price was reasonable too. We were very satisfied when we finished our meals and had zero complaints!
Totally lived up to the reputation. Was recommended by a friend and it did not disappoint, we went in the off season slightly after the lunch rush and was served quickly and with a smile. The fish was fresh and tasty and the batter delicious. The chips were great, could really tell they had been cooked in the beef dripping. I also had 3 oysters which were fresh and incredibly tasty. A proper treat this place. Not to be missed.
Sorry, but I don't know what all the hype is about the place. The fish was absolutely rank. It was so greasy. I had to get a 2nd plate to let the grease drip off. It just put me off my meal. The picture is deceiving The best part of the my meal was the mushy peas and the bread and butter. Our lass liked her mixed medley but it was proper covered in garlic and had full on garlic cloves in it. The starter was okay. It was pouring down outside. Only 2 of us waiting to go in. Didn't understand why we couldn't wait inside. Plenty of room Wont be going back.
Awesome experience. Plenty gluten free options! Got in nice and early, on second floor, with good spacing between tables. I had gluten free fish and chips, gluten free bread and butter, and gluten free curry sauce! Even the vinegar was gluten free. The food was delicious. You'd not think it was gluten free batter. The fish was tasty and fresh, and the chips were so chunky; and none of it left that greasy feeling in your mouth. Curry sauce was lovely for someone who prefers it sweeter, and thankfully the gf bread slice came with plenty of butter Service was quick, though there was a slight wait for our dinners, it was well worth it knowing it was fresh. My partner had the same dish but not gluten free, and the crunch of the batter sounded delicious! Will definitely go back!!
