Came across this place on FB on a days out forum. Had never heard of it before but decided to give it a whirl. It did not disappoint. We went as a family of four with two girls, aged 9 and 12. Puzzles were pitched exactly right and we loved the theme. Shout out to the chap on reception whose name I didn't catch unfortunately but he looked very dapper in a waistcoat who did our introduction.
Just had a quick look inside from Bell Court. Up the stairs and the shop on the first floor. First aware of it coming to Stratford-upon-Avon back in 2018. They may have initially been on Henley Street? Have passed it on Bell Court a few times since it opened, but not got around to popping in before now. I think the museum bit you have to pay for. Maybe on a future visit. This was just to have a quick look inside before I continued my walk.
My partne rand I visited this amazing place yesterday. The quest was tremendous fun and my partner decided he would dress-up to walk around The puzzles were head scratchers, some were quite hard. The props for each room are awesome and the effects are simply perfect.
Great location, lots of cool stuff to buy, and really friendly staff! I'm from Canada, and I always love visiting magical shops in other countries! <3
What a fabulous place !!! It was easy to book online and each time slot is for you and only you which is great. Each room is themed, the questions and riddles were brilliant and the booklet that you work through is excellent which you get to keep. Our girls aged 11 and 13 worked well together working things out and writing down the answers I don't want to give anything away!. We got round in about an hour and a half but spent a good half hour in the shop taking in the atmosphere and chatting to the staff, who were hilarious and extremely friendly. An absolute amazing way to spend a couple of hours. The price is well worth the experience in my opinion
This was an excellent little find and was very enjoyable. If you like stories of devil's, witches and general history then this is for you. We booked Inquisition, not having a clue what we were going too. Upon arrival we looked round the magical shop then were given a clip board with 2 torches and a pencil then entered the rooms behind the shop. Basically there is a number of puzzles, questions to solve and write the answers down too. It was very good, took us about an hour 15 minutes to get round then our answers got answered at the end and we got a certificate! Well done magic alley
Dragons, unicorns, dinosaurs, fairies - you get the picture! The shop part is full of fascinating items like crystal balls, books, skulls, runes, dragons, witches brooms etc. And classical music in the background - yes! Then the other part has lots of puzzles suitable for most age groups, though young children will need adult support to unravel some of the trickier ones. All this through various scenes of fantasy models, aided by the guidance of a helpful fairy/witch called Elodie.
This emporium/attraction is a real gem of Stratford-upon-Avon! A really interesting place to spend some time and some money. The staff were so incredibly friendly and welcoming. It was so nice to be able to browse without feeling obliged to buy or being made to feel like we were in the way not every place can say this!!! If you’re into the weird and wonderful, this is the place for you! If you’re not, this is the place for you!! Go look anyway! ps… Thank you for the little conversation we had with the owner from the two like minded people! HAIL
We visited the Crystal Kingdom yesterday with our 3 children, ages 7, 8 and 10. All 3 children were given age appropriate quests which is such a good idea, keeps them entertained moving through the attraction whilst waiting to meet Father Christmas. Plenty of characters in the attraction too to help them complete their quests. My children were so quiet meeting Father Christmas which means he is suitably impressive, I think he is the real deal! Everyone received a gift and all were very pleased with their selections. Throughout the attraction, it was so beautifully decorated, we can see the team have worked so incredibly hard to put this together. Thank you from The Dowlers for such a lovely time.
Unique place to visit. Had a lovely time visiting with the grandchildren. You made our Halloween. Well done everyone.
