Brilliant place for families to explore and maybe picnic. There is a trail cut through the longer grass and trees.with information on the history. Very interesting great for kids to find the next part of the trail. The wooden henge would be great for them to run around in. Not to long a walk and free.
A lovely, simple trail arround a little field. Explaining the history of the place. Well laid out, simple info graphics and exhibits. Excellent for children and little Free outing.
Absolutely superb, thought provoking and well organised. Great to see a replica henge bringing these mysterious sites alive.Wait time30–60 minReservation recommendedNo
We completely drive past this. But found it eventually. Was a nice little walk regardless. Lots of signs about the history.
Pleasant walk around, although could do with the grass being shorter.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo wait
Nice place to stop briefly, well worth following the boards to learn the history of the place. Not much else here.
It was near by to our caravan site so we took a drive to walk around. It was so nice and informative, the sign posts were amazing and telling of the archaeology the site has seen. The site has inspired me to look at more of the history. Me and my brother especially loved the wood henge after discovering it was a "cult centre".
Amazing how the site is next to the main road, yet so hidden from view. Worth a visit. So much history in small field. Clear and easy to read information boards spread throughout the well kept site. The door to the house is push to open, not pull.
If you like anything historical this is a place worthy of a visit. Plenty of information about the area and it's history along with nature trails. Nice reconstruction of a wooden henge.
Giving this lovely place 3 stars cannot really describe what is there, but in some ways the fact that there is not very much there is its attraction! The small site is set aside to describe the stages of settlement in this extraordinary area that has been the seat of Kings, the nursery of Christianity in Britain and a very good place to live in that odd time where Stone Age, Bronze Age, Iron Age and Roman come and go and ordinary people just take care of their own hearth and home, their neighbours and extended family just like we do.
