Interesting shop to look around. Stuff everywhere and some hidden gems. Occasionally it feels a bit uncomfortable, like the owner didn't really want you in the shop because he's doing repairs. Fair enough I suppose and once you get used to it then it's fine. I posted some photos...one shows a yellow note on the door giving opening times. Take them with a pinch of salt.
I've been visiting Barry at Lukes for 30 years. Love hearing his old stories of when he was in the music biz in the 60s and 70s, touring with Hendrix and Zeppelin.
Went to see Barry who I've known for a good few years, buying and selling. A couple of my guitars are in Barry's shop, including a Hagstrom Swede, a Fazley jazzmaster style guitar, and a telecaster style, thanks for the sales and trades so far Barry
My 40 year old MXR pedal wasn't working, so took it to Luke's and it was fixed that day and I picked it up the next morning. Excellent, friendly service, at a very reasonable price. Can't recommend this place enough.
Brought in my Marshall amp with an intermittent fault. Fixed really quickly and did full service. The price was very reasonable and the amp was great.....no unwanted noise or hum, even when turned up
Asked them to put 3 new strings on my grandson's guitar, they did it within a few hours and tuned it as well. Only charged a tenna, so I give a a 5* rating.
Called in to see Barry as it's been a while since we last spoke, had a look at some of the amps he has for sale. May ask Barry to wire in some new pickup at a later stage as I have an idea about the sound I'm after
What a lovely man Barry is ,very helpful and informative. Would highly recommend using this shop .
Bought bass a while back worked fine, went in there the day after to buy a pick, Luke must have been busy as he shouted and just threw the pick at me. Terrible customer service.
Came here to pick up a jack lead for my friends guitar, had exactly what I needed and was a quick and easy service
