The best meal we had during our 3 week trip all over Scotland. Cannot sing this place’s praises enough. The cheese soufflé was one of the best things I have ever tasted. Our starters, mains and desserts were all perfection.
Sat outside on a September evening enjoying some fantastic food here. We were well looked after by Chris who always has a chat with everybody, but have to say the food is pretty damn good. Book in advance, very popular place!
Last night we had dinner there - as it was the jubilee weekend and we had no reservation, we couldn’t get it, but we’re lucky to get a spot outside in the sun to get some food. The dragon head beer was fantastic and as dinner there were Gnocchi on the menu. All in all a good dinner
Booked this place last minute and was not disappointed. In fact, the food was absolutely fantastic - we had the mussels, prawn linguine and the beef ragu. Some of the best I've had anywhere. The service at Luigi's brilliant. Couldn't fault it at all. Must visit!
Our favourite place to eat whilst on our NC500 tour. We prebooked for dinner which is highly recommend as it's a popular place. A nice atmosphere in the restaurant and excellent service.  A great choice on the menu and lots of specials. We chose pork belly with parsnip and piccalilli as a starter which was delicious. Tender pork belly and great flavours. Parsnip and piccalilli sounds like it wouldn't work but it so did. For mains we opted forLinguine with Scallops, prawns Chilli and garlic. Absolutely tremendous. Beautifully sweet and perfectly cooked Scallops and loads of prawns. The sauce was delicious. Usually I get bored eating a pasta dish but I didn't want this one to end.  The photos really don't do this dish justice. We added chilli flakes but this is just because I'm a chilli fan. For dessert I had one of the specials of Bread and butter pudding and ice cream. Nice crispy top and goey centre. My husband had the Sticky toffee pud which was light and very tasty. Washed down with a bottle ofMartin codax albarino wine. We loved it so much we went for lunch the next day and were lucky to take the last empty table .. where as others were turned away. Hence I repeat to book in advance. We tried their pizzas. Spanish pizza with chorizo, sun blushed toms and black olives and the Luigi pizza that comes with chicken,  sweet peppers,  rocket, red onion. Again great flavours and the base was thin but also slightly doughy but light. Perfect. We saw the cakes on the counter and were tempted so had Coffee walnut and carrot cake. Both very nice but if I'm honest the coffee cake was a little dry whereas the carrot cake was beautifully moist. Again great flavours. And there's the excellent coffee which we had black. A fantastic cup of coffee. Service again was great. Loved it here and would most definitely book again if in the Dornoch area.  Thank you!!
Amazing pizzas, one of the best we have eaten! Lovely menu and not too big! Very friendly and attentive staff. Seating outside if you have a dog, inside is spotlessly clean, modern and spacious. We shall be back there on our next trip to the highlands. The beach close by too yo walk off your lunch/dinner.
Lovely place, charming and attentive staff. Food was all rather good, fresh and delicious.
Lovely restaurant, glad that we were able to get a table. Great service. Lovely food. As I have a hearing problem quite difficult to have a conversation with anyone but the manager did come and apologize for the noise.
Such an awesome team. I arrived without a booking silly I know but the owner was fantastic and made room for me. They were so busy for such a little place. You can tell they are all so passionate about what they do. I had duck with watermelon and cashew salad doesn't sound right i know, thats why i had to try it for starters and it was phenomenal, I mean wow, what a taste sensation. For main I had the lamb, cooked to exactly how I asked for it, also very nice. I would definitely come back, the only difference is I would book a table before.
Booked here as staying at Grannies Heilan Hame for a short break. All covid restrictions adhered to, very friendly helpful staff. Lovely decor, felt like a relaxed atmosphere. Great choice on the menu and some lovely special to pick from. I had a bruschetta to start, my hubby, 14 yr old son and my friend had Frito Misto, which they said was awesome, very light, crispy batter, everything tasted fresh- perfect they said! My other friend had a soup from specials board which he thought was excellent For mains, my friend had seafood risotto from specials board excellent but she was stuffed, myself and friends hubby had chilli lime chicken skewers from specials- again, great flavours and tasted really fresh. My son had the From the Sea dish, so a mix of hot smoked salmon, mackerel, calamari and a crab cake- absolutely awesome he tells me! My husband had the Italian meats selection. Again all beautifully presented, all very fresh and tasty. Was hoping for room for a dessert but we were stuffed! If we return to Dornoch again, will certainly return here, thanks again!
