I loved our visit to ludlow castle. The weather wasnt great but the castle was amazing. We had a quiet couple of hours walking around here. It was worrying to me as somebody with limited mobility as to how I would manage. However I got round most of it and they have good paths and bridges. My hiking stick aided me around and kept my balance very well. Given it is a historic building there is only so much Ludlow can do the mitigate in line the age of it. The people on the door and the shop were exceptionally helpful and it made our trip away to finally visit the castle. I didn't do the orginal steps as these I think were beyond me but being able to see and do so much was a real joy. There some stairs that are easier in two place and part of build would structures. This is a very large and outstanding castle and I highly recommend
Beautifully kept grounds. Superb castle ruins to explore. If you have a head for heights, go up spiral staircase to the top of the tower. Views are amazing. Lovely open space for picnics with covered tables. Cafe, gift shop.
What a fabulous castle! Love bed looking around and discovering all the twists and turns. Stunning ruins. Friendly and helpful staff. Sadly the café wasn’t open to try out what was on offer. We’ll certainly be back.
Omg.. this place is stunning!!! Wonderful views from the top of the beautiful town of Ludlow. I can honestly say that thus is now in my top 5 places to visit in Britain! It's magnificent. Steeped in History! Even on the dullest of days , this place stood mighty! Such a wonderful day!!! Xxx
Located in a beautiful part of Shropshire, we drove there via Coventry, around a 2hr drive for us, through some of the most scenic countryside you will ever see. Parking near the castle is easy and mainly consists of on street parking. Parking for blue badge holders is free with no time restrictions.nEntry is via the main front entrance and not the entrance on the left which leads to a dead end.nTicket price was £10 per adult. Children under 6 go in free.nMuch of the castle is still standing, it's rather large and plenty to look at. There is a cafe/restaurant on site before you go in, although there was not much seating space.nThere is also a gift shop on the way in and also one on the way out. To use the toilets you first have to purchase you ticket, which has a code on to let you into the toilets.nFor the ticket price it's well worth a visit, with plenty of open space to sit down on, on a nice day.
