Story

Green Lane Masjid was one of the first branches of the organisation in Great Britain.

Since its establishment in the 70’s, the Masjid has gone through numerous phases of development and progress. The building itself has become a landmark of the area and is well-known to all, with a colourful history behind the structure.

Serving the Muslim community, Green Lane Masjid has developed over the years catering for all people by providing vital services and assistance. As well as a Madrasah, the Masjid houses offices, flats, library and a state of the art funeral faciilities.

Numerous guests have visited the Masjid, including the illustrious Imams of the two holy mosques of Makkah and Madinah, as well as various Islamic scholars and local MPs.

With recent developments at the Masjid, the services being offered have increased; a recent renovation means that the Masjid accommodates more worshippers than ever; a radio broadcast system has been installed; sermons and other programs are now broadcast over the internet and much more is being planned to cater in particular for the younger Muslim community.

Green Lane Masjid and Community Centre aims to Inspire, Educate and Serve the local community and worldwide and to encourage others to Inspire, Educate and Serve.

We aim to Inspire people to faith and to increase in faith through Talks, Social Media, various Social Activities and our Young Ummah program
We aim to Educate Muslims and non-Muslims, both young and old about the true Islamic teachings.

We aim to encourage the worship of Allah (Glory be to Him) and to Serve the community.

Vision

The Vision of Green Lane Masjid and Community Centre is “Islamic Faith in the Hearts of the People”.

Our vision highlights our wish for everyone among mankind to worship our Lord Allah alone (Glory be to Him) according to the teachings of His Messenger Muhammad (Peace be upon him).

I gave you 4 starts solely due to the delay in updating the prayer timetable in the mobile phone app. It often takes you to update it between 4-7 days and, unfortunately, does not seem improving despite myself calling the masjid twice over the past 4 years.  This masjid is, otherwise, a great community centre with outstanding standard. And I am hoping this minor issue will get a way to improve in the future as many people rely on it on a daily basis.  Thank you.

Allahuma barik very beautiful mosque and recently went for the classes held in the winter conference. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to go! Very informative and great experience.

I’m not a muslim but i’ve been given the opportunity to visit the Mosque and Community Centre through an open door event, I was amazed by the vast and complex support system this centre offers to its community, from praying sanctuary to after school, Koran studies classes, charities, shelter for refugees, sport clubs, scouts club and many other. It’s indeed the centre of the community and the work the team running the place are doing is just amazing.

One of my favourite places to pray. Peace and serenity. Well organised and great staff.

Excellent mosque and prayer halls for men downstairs and women upstairs. It's very clean and the staff at the mosque always go over and beyond to help. Highly recommend this mosque.

Best Masjid in Bham if not UK for sure! We can only pray all the other mosques follow the footsteps of green lane!  Really supportive of the community!  Highly recommend all the workshops and events they have on!!!!

Love this mosque! The women side is bright with natural light it's just beautiful Allahuma barek, I love that every colours/cultures meet there. That's how it should be everywhere! Always clean as well ma sha Allah This mosque is doing amazing things d'or the community may Allah rewards all people involved!

The Green Lane Masjid is not just a place where prayer is observed but a community with rich history and activities. They also have madrasa and regular lecture series for all age groups. When I went there, they observed strict Covid restrictions but were still kind enough to allow me take some pictures.

Always a lovely and warm experience coming to this masjid. Nice toilet and wudhu area, easy and accessible parking on site or over the road in the Morissons car park shhh. Prayer area is tranquil, light, airy and open all day.  The facilities for sisters are equally as good but do have to go upstairs.
