Wow outstanding dishes! I’m not a fan of takeaway nor fast food but I had an occasion to try this takeaway and the quality and the taste of the dishes was amazing- prawn rice, duck with cashew nuts, salt and pepper chicken, deep fried prawn were totally authentic Chinese food, even the curry chips westernised food was good
Chicken, mushroom in oyster sauce was terrible. Chicken was slivers of pre-boiled fowl, and the sauce tasted like the water it was boiled in. Tried next the special fried rice which apart from the prawns was bland, not enough garlic or any kind of flavour/seasoning. The Char Sui element is no longer roast pork but some kind of tasteless luncheon meat! I gave the place the benefit of the doubt one last time last weekend and tried again with the Special FR. The rice looked and tasted like it had been re-fried into gravel. It went into the bin.

To be honest, then only reason we use here is because its handy to house. Front of house staff are friendly enough. Last time used, we were told half an hour for collection. Sat for a good while after the half hour wait time and people who came in AFTER me were getting food BEFORE me. When I did get the food, we actually had to warm the food up when we got home. Think most of it had been left out and forgotten about. Avoid if you can, I know I will be in future.

Customer service/telephone manner training needed. Urgently. Hell no, right now. When we enquired about a very late order, we were dismissed with so many "uh-huhs" it felt like Elvis had just re-entered the building. We were regulars. Not any more. We always enjoyed the food; the one is for this evening's customer service. For that, I'd have given zero stars if Google allowed such an option.
Portion sizes here are the best around East belfast as far as Chinese takeaways go. I have tried and tested the rest and this place comes out top by far. Decor a little bit tired but because of the large turnover of food in this place this is a real positive sign and thumbs up for me. I recommend everything on the menu- honestly!
Pork chowmein was nice, vegrables not too big and a decent amount of meat. But the chicken balls were raw, batter wasn't cooked and the chicken was pink. Unimpressed, luckily there was no food poisoning.
Used China Star for several years but since a recent takeover, the quality of the food has become unacceptable. The service is horrendous, the staff are rude and this business simply doesn't appreciate your custom or deserve your money. Highly recommend ordering elsewhere even if it will take longer or cost slightly more.
Really really nice grub. The best thing is the portions. Go somewhere else and u find the portions are far smaller. We always go here simply because of this. A+
