Let’s be straight here…I have a healthy appetite and enjoy a decent butty.. this place has a wonderful setting and is situated just alongside a local pond so a lovely walk and afternoon tea is a must… When I visited I ordered a sausage, bacon and egg sandwich although the food itself was cooked nicely and the sausage was meaty I can’t help but feel it was missing quantities… Would I buy it again? Yes if I wasn’t hungry and just bought it as an extra. The service was excellent and I was made welcome from the off.. you can book a table to avoid disappointment too! Lovely quiet spot with staff that care about their customers. Would recommend for a sit down lunch but not for an overly hungry grab and go worker
The staff are SO lovely, so welcoming and friendly absolutely faultless. Plenty of tables & little car park a bonus for those not local. Food was fine the downfall was the dirty cutlery & glasses : came once before and had a greasy glass but gave the benefit of the doubt as it was busy then and staff were visibly busy but came second time, quiet day and dirty glasses & cutlery. Not dishwasher marks, greasy fingers and lipstick round the rim Just constructive criticism as it was the downfall, my wife was pulling out baby wipes to clean it all but was a little off putting. Like I say staff are a dream though and I’m sure if we complained they’d have washed the dishes.
I hadn’t seen my Mum for 5 months so I wanted to organise something special to celebrate us being able to see each other and her birthday. I certainly wasn’t disappointed by the Ploughman’s Afternoon Tea from Love to Eat. The food was excellent and there was so much of it! It was excellent value for money. My mum and I ended up having it over two sittings there was so much. The selection of cheeses, ham and chutney was really great. The cakes and scones were very fresh and tasty. I really can’t say enough good things about how impressed both of us where by the Afternoon Tea. Fiona was so helpful and friendly in arranging everything. I will definitely be ordering a take away from here again and I can’t wait to visit in person when restrictions have been eased.
Lovely little place, warm and friendly. Food was tasty and staff were welcomingFood: 5/5
Nearly £5 for a take away BLT sandwich seemed a bit pricey but I would have been happy if it wasn't for the fact that there was barely any bacon. I opened the sandwich to find a single sad slice of bacon buried in mayo. Quite a disappointment and a shame as I used to love this little cafe
Fantastic fresh food. Good quality, reasonably priced. Lovely friendly service. Vegetarian options: Vegan breaky a must have
Came with my daughter this morning and had caramel chocolate cake, chocolate orange shortbread and coffee. It was delicious, will certainly come back. I took a pic but my daughter is in it so you will just have to take my word for it!
Welcome stop after a bike ride. Friendly service as always. Under the new cover out of the sun. Top notch food. Can’t wait to visit again
Collected an afternoon tea takeaway for my Dads 80th Birthday, it was amazing my parents loved it. Great value & Fiona is lovely
Take out a 2nd mortgage as everything over priced. Had a small bacon sausage and tomato bap. Cost £4.95. I couldn't bite through the sausage skin and contents kept being dragged out because of it. Awful. P.s I have my own teeth with a strong jaw.
