Nice food and friendly staff. We has a great dinner last night the staff was super nice with us and we had 2 starters and mains, the filo prawns were amazing, the fish and chips was high quality one the pork boneless ribs were super tender. Good price for the food quality too
We came here when it happened to be paella night, it was so delicious. A glass of sangria and tasty paella, my partner ordered the veggie chilli and it didn’t disappoint. Loved this food so much. Hospitality was 10/10 and staff were very attentive. Go here!
Went to the pub for New Years eve with my sister and brother in law. Always such a welcoming friendly atmosphere. Helen and Mark run a fantastic pub its always busy and everyone always made to feel welcome. Food is excellent too well worth a visit !
Had lunch there on Weds whilst Christmas fayre was offered there were welcome alternatives pub favourites like burgers ham egg and chips and even a good sandwich menu. We chose the later bacon brie and mushroom served with chips and side salad which was excellent. Great place and dog friendly so will be back with my dog!
A delightful pub set in the heart of the village with oodles of rustic charm and walks in every direction. During the day it's quietest and with plenty of outdoor seating front and rear you can enjoy a cold beverage on a sunny day as you socialise or watch the world go by. Come the evening it shakes off its unassuming quaint village pub cloak and becomes a bubbling hub of both locals and visitors. There's regular comedy and music events too so keep an eye out for those.
First time at the Pub and what a Treat it was. Although we didn't eat, the menu and the food looked really good and appetising, also very reasonably priced. The inside of the pub is like a "Tardis". Plenty of tables and chairs and a reasonable bar space. The visit we made was to listen to live music and we weren't disappointed. A Fabulous afternoons entertainment and all free. Bar prices were remarkably good and the team were extremely friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit.
Excellent food. I shared a roast lamb with my niece and you could not fault it . Very friendly staff nothing was too much trouble..Would highly recommend. Ten out of ten is well deserved.
Such a joy to be welcomed on a short break into local communities. The heart of such places are often the country pub. Just visited The Lord Nelson in Norton Sub Hamdon for a pub lunch. Warm welcome great beers, wines and food. Shown to be a special place as most of the other diners were more local. Good choice of home cooked fare. Find time to support these places if luck enough to get away.
Decent basic pub food, which seemed slightly overpriced. That being said, it's a decent local village pub with good beer and food - I wish I had something similar where I live.
Busy / popular pub with live music and events. Served quickly too. So busy there wasn't enough places to sit down though
