A prime example of a Victorian Era park. Opened in 1850 this is not just a community park but an historical site too. Covering quite a large distance this makes for a great walk, exercise or workout, family fun time and more. There is a huge grassy area in the middle of the park which is perfect for a picnic or for outdoor games. The lake is full of ducks and geese, often in large flocks and add a touch of character to the park. You can grab a coffee from the little cafe and sit on a bench and enjoy the nature & view. The varied trees here are awesome with so many species. It's really quite something. Check out the nice rose garden too and the Victorian architecture dotted around. We are lucky to have this in our town.
Fantastic park for all the family .they have a playground. A splash park, boating lake, tennis courts, bowling green, and lovely parkland to wonder and have picnics, there's also a great cafe at very reasonable prices food very nice ,toilets are very clean and tidy great day out for the whole family.
One of my favourite days out. A dog friendly park with something for everyone. Plenty of space to walk on the track around the park on the walking track. There are squirrels to feed and beautiful flowers and trees to enjoy. There is a fabulous boating lake with lots of ducks and geese to enjoy. Please don't let your children chase the birds. There are public toilets and a cafe on site. There is also a splash pool. There is also organised motor bike racing that happens in the park during the summer.
The most stunning park, lovely for walking the dogs. Beautiful water feature pond with the ducks. Stunning in all seasons. Playground: Beautiful large play park and splash pad. Restrooms: Lovely and clean. Dog-friendliness: Lots of space and bins. Picnic area: Loads of benches and open spaces.
Loving the new splash pad this summer. Great fun. Could do with more benches though. The children had lots of fun on a sunny day ages 7,6,and 4 then to the park afterwards for a play!
Lovely peaceful place but can imagine in height of season it being very busy. Toilet block nice and clean and showers were very easy to use. Dog-friendliness: Dog very welcome and lots of walks for all abilities
Fantastic afternoon. we had a couple of laps in the pedal boats.round the pond . The splash pad was open and not to over crowded the children were really enjoying This park has plenty of seating and easy access to wheel chair users ect.refreshments can be purchased on site.theres something for everyone here
What a stunning park, loads to do, pedlos, water splash area for kids and birds to feed, lovely walks in very well maintained gardens, very impressed. Also toilets and a cafe here
A lovely park, parkingif you're not walking can be an issue if it's busy. The ducks are a highlight of the park, there's plenty!
I love Aberdare Park! It literally has everything you could want in a park. Lovely walks, geese, ducks, playground, cafe, tidy toilets! It is so well kept - the flower beds are beautiful.
