We camped at Lochside Holiday Park for two nights in our tent and had such a brilliant stay. The site was peaceful and never felt oversold or crowded, with stunning scenery from every pitch. You’re either looking out over beautiful fields filled with Highland cows or across the breathtaking lake, which also has thoughtful, humane rules around their fishery.nnIt felt like the perfect balance between wild camping and the comfort of being on a site. The staff were attentive and welcoming, and it was absolutely worth the money we paid. The only little challenge we faced was our fear of wasps – but that’s nature for you!nnWe’d definitely recommend and would love to return.
Lovely park, very clean and well maintained. Peter and Matthew we're so pleasant welcoming and helpful. Thank you for a lovely stay. We will certainly be regular visitors from now on.
Arrived Friday in the pouring rain but was greeted by the lovely gentleman on reception. He even came to check if I had got pitched OK as it was my first solo. The site is spotless and in a beautiful location. Also a short walk into town. I can't fault anything on this site x
Absolutely brilliant, brilliant campsite to stay at when in the area. Extremely helpful and friendly staff that make sure you are aware of all features available. I was given plenty of time to decide where I was going to pitch my tent and also given a very helpful map of the area as I was new to it. Within easy walking distance of Castle Douglas and all its amenities. 100% I will be staying here again. Permanent and touring hard stands as well as loads of space for hard core campers in tents.
We stayed at Lochside Caravan park in our campervan for a 3 night stay 7-10 March. Lindsay on reception was so friendly when booking us in on the phone, and he was the same when we arrived. The facilities are great - good hardstandings or grass, electric hook up, water, chemical toilet and waste water drain. The toilet block and washing up area is very clean. There are lovely country walks from the site which is next to the Lochside park. It is a 5 minute walk into town where there are local shops, cafes, takeaways, restaurants, Hotel/pub and a CO/OP.nWe would thoroughly recommend the site and will definitely return..
