My favourite rice noodle place!! So authentic and delicious. Will come back regularly. Made with the rice noodles on Sunday, tasted just like in restaurant. is also very good!! 5 stars shop!!!!Food: 5/5
Would say it is the best noodle one could find in UK. Affordable price. Super delicious ho fun, cheung fun, glutinous rice cake & etc. Highly recommend.Food: 5/5
Got some steamed buns with a bean paste filling and ho fun noodles. Located in a rather conspicious back alley, but having taken them home and prepared the food this was really great. Enjoyed the taste of the steam bun and prepared some veg and chicken with the noodles. Really lovely taste to them. Would like to come back and try the other items on the menu.
Lo’s Noodle Factory is literally the only place you should get your Ho Fun noodles in London! It is deliciously authentic, bouncy and flavoursome. They have been a Chinatown landmark for years and any local Cantonese Londoner can direct you to this hidden gem in the heart of Chinatown, London. Their price is affordable and the noodles are freshly made on their premises daily. I love making Beef with Beansprouts Ho Fun and Malaysian style Ho Fun with their noodles - it elevates your Ho Fun dish to another level. It is a MUST buy when food shopping in Chinatown. Other recommended items to try are both the Cheung Fun noodles, the Steamed Cake and the Chinese Rice Pudding .
I tried some of their food over the years. Turnip/ radish cake, red bean buns, malay cake, and char siu buns. Nothing extraordinary, among those, red bean buns taste the best, the rest is skippable. Prices are increasing every year. Going there is not pleasant either as the shop is located in the dirty alley lined with garbage bins. Cash only.
Definitely the best Cantonese dim sum / rice noodle factory in London, preserving old Cantonese traditional way to produce. Radish Cake and Rice roll is highly recommended. They also have Lunar New Year pudding in January.Recommended dishes
Hidden gem in Chinatown! Buying goods made from white powder in a shady alley way with cash makes the experience all the better. The guy handing off the goods is nice and talkative. Really cool spot to buy your carbs.
I used to really like Lo’s Noodle Factory in London. However recently their quality and food hygiene have dropped a lot. One of the two Lo Noodles that I bought this week had a MASSIVE LONG HAIR, see pictures below. No one in their 'industrial kitchen' uses kitchen hair nets or sth similar, I think that is a must and a mininum. It is very disgusting seeing hair in food, and per my picture so embedded into the food.
Great place for authentic cantonese dishes at an economical price point, sans hygiene. The yam cake might as well have been a flight ticket because it sent me back to the streets of Hong Kong when fried with eggs and topped with spring onions and XO chilli sauce. Throw in some spinach for your five a day! Char siew bao, nice bun but dry filling, not bad. Cheong Fann, buy. Steamed cake, delightful on a cold day, slap it on a steamer and soon you have a fluffy slice of cake with notes of molasses and caramel.
The main reason why I even travel down to Chinatown! This place is cash only but serves the freshest ingredients. I always get the hor fun noodles the smallest is good for 2-3 portions and turnip cake! The char Siew bun is the traditional kind I always find at home as compared to the ones at bakeries :- Uncle is super friendly and always smiles when I order so many from him!!! Place is CASH ONLY so stock up on some cash there’s also hsbc round the corner if you need to withdraw cash
