Terrible. I have no idea where to start! This school is atrocious and the only reason why you will see so many 5-star ratings is because the school makes students review the school during Computer Science lessons, with teachers standing above students, watching them and forcing them to award 5 stars. Quality of teaching is so bad - I don’t know where to begin. If it were possible, I would give his school 0 stars. If you are a parent who will be considering sending your child to this school, I implore you to save the future of your child and their education by exploring options elsewhere.nnWe were promised a “fresh beginning” after the redevelopment of the school - a fresh beginning it has been, but one down the wrong path. Standards have fallen dramatically since Ms Powell left as Headteacher.
Where to begin?nnThe supposed 'school' and 'leaders' are those who dictate their own authority. They consistently forbid students from studying for their exams, in order to participate in a variety of irrelevant courses.nnThe school has a range of small, extra rooms, and yet they refuse to establish a single one in order for students who would like to pray. Instead, students are forced to move back and forth between Drama rooms, like headless chickens. The lack of diversity is astounding, and whilst LGBTQ is constantly supported, the recognition of religions is completely absent.nnThere are only a meagre amount of actual teachers, who would personally like to see their students succeed. The SLT and other leaders talk of achievement, and yet when students would like to make their own time for exam and coursework revision, it is forbidden.nnThey heavily examine high ability students for being underachieving, or in other words, not getting a 9 A** when they are on an 8 A*. In other words, underperforming students are congratulated and recognised for progressing, though not passing. Which is the parallel for students who are already going beyond their limit and not praised at all.nnI cannot begin to talk about the double standards this school encloses, it is absolutely ridiculous that a Head of Department allows their own students to do coursework, whilst other students are deprived and forced to go to core subjects in which they are not examined.nnAnother unprofessional factor is the lack of morality within rules. SLT members create their own selection of coats for the day as if they're creating a dressing room. Subtle rings are not permitted, and yet students are free to wear brightly coloured nails. There is no regular bell, but an uneccessary carousel of songs, yet again: Biased.nnMy advice would be, your children would be more happy in a Hospital than in a building that looks like one.
As a new student of Little Ilford School, I believe that a specific individual called Ms Karim has made things easier for me. This was due to the numerous times I came to her for help in which she was willing to help me. Ms karim is an amazing teacher and I find it extremely appauling that someone could speak so negatively towards her. Little Ilford School has helped me improve in all subjects but particularly Citizenship. Thanks to Ms Karim.
