We both enjoyed our seared tuna. It's pink tender and succulent to perfection. It also came with vegetables and New potatoes, which was a pleasant surprise because we didn't tell that from the menu. Service very friendly. A letter at the entrance showed Prince Philip used to find here. A very interesting place with quality, history and family tradition.
Really great little restaurant - highly recommend. Good menu - not cheap but the food was great. I had the Cumberland sausage with gravy and mash - excellent. Service was a tad slow but it was peak lunchtime.
Food was okay ...they were accomodating to allergies. Starters were the best thing. 2 courses plus 2 glasses of wine £70+. Bench seating needs a good clean. All staff were very helpful. Dietary restrictions: Helpful and knowledgeable

Wow, wow, wow, where to start. This place is tucked away in the centre of Alnwick and we think it's a must visit. So make sure you go out of your way to find it. The food is absolutely delicious, there's a great menu with plenty to choose from, we had crabcakes to start, chicken and langoustine for one of the mains and sea bass with crushed potatoes and chorizo for another, both served with veg. Then cheesecake for dessert. My mouth is watering remembering it. The food was complimented with some fantastic, fuss free, polite and professional service. For drinks we had a fantastic rose wine and draft Kronenbourg which tasted so nice and perfectly pulled. After our meal we had the opportunity to chat with the owners who were really nice and warm and friendly. They have put a lot of work and effort into this business and it shows. We can't recommend this place highly enough. We will definitely go back.
Didn't know what to expect from this place when were visiting Alnwick for a few days but we sure weren't disappointed. Amazing food ! A hidden gem of a place tucked away but not hidden, a lovely place run by lovely people, very attentive and polite. The chef really excels in the preparation and presentation of food, so tasty. A good choice on the menu and also a well stocked bar. A very clean place with a good atmosphere. Clean toilets. We will definitely call again if ever we're in this area. Can recommend.

Nice family run Cafe just of the market square. Bacon and Blue cheese Baguette and fries went down well. Clean and airy. Pleasant staff serving lunch time menu.Food: 4/5
Lovely food ,excellent venue and really friendly helpful staff. Decent value food and a nice range of options on menu. Drinks are available and a bonus was that they do half portions of the meals for children or those that have smaller appetites. Restaurant is over several floors with restrooms available. Not easily visible to find as it's situated through a cut by the square leading to part of the town but it is worth it.
Avoid at all costs. Four of us booked dinner to celebrate a birthday. We were, unfortunately for us, put on a table in a corner. The first course for all of us was very good. Just as we were being served the main course a group of 18 men arrived and were shown to two tables right along side ours. They started as they meant to go on, shouting across the two tables. We couldn’t hear each other speak and eventually gave up trying to do so. We were also unable to hear the server when she spoke to us. There was a party of 10 on the other side of us who were incredibly considerate no shouting and ridiculous guffaws. The owner was present and should have asked these men to keep the noise down. Instead she crept around them with £££ signs flashing before her eyes. The main course was as disappointing as the evening, the rack of lamb was tough and the duck chewy and tasteless. What should have been a happy evening was spoilt and cut short as we could stand it no longer. We had no apology and grudgingly handed over £150.00 for one of the worst evenings on record. I wrote to the owners to point out our birthday celebration was spoilt because of their total lack of respect for us as diners. Unfortunately and true to form they chose to ignore us.
