On a Sunday before a bank holiday, I purchased four items, but the cashier scanned five.nI opted for a digital receipt instead of a paper one, which I later checked.nThe receipt included a pack of avocados £1.39 that I neither purchased nor received.nIt seems unlikely that an item could be scanned by mistake if it wasn’t physically present.nI suspect the cashier may have scanned an item for personal gain, keeping it after charging me.nI hope this isn’t the case, and if I’m mistaken, I sincerely apologize.n2. Unfair Treatment of Staff
I’ve noticed that Lidl staff often appear unhappy, frustrated, or discontent compared to employees at other stores.nOn another Sunday, I observed the store preparing to close, but a few customers entered at the last moment, forcing staff to work overtime.nI’ve heard that Lidl may not compensate employees for such additional hours, which feels unfair.nThis lack of fair treatment could explain the staff’s demeanor.nI hope I’m wrong, but if this is true, I urge Lidl to address these issues and improve working conditions.nnConclusionnI live near this Lidl and shop here frequently.nI want both customers and staff to be treated fairly and respectfully.nI hope my concerns are unfounded, but if they reflect real issues, I encourage Lidl to take steps to ensure better practices for everyone involved.nnPs: Changed my 4 star review to 1 star on 18/05/2025.nI was charged £1.39 due to a reported system glitch, but customers never received refunds for their mistake.nNow, they’re prompting 10p donations at checkout, which feels like another tactic.nI come here to save money, not to donate to the rich.nI’m frustrated and no longer enjoy shopping here.nI’d rather travel further to shop at Aldi, where things feel straightforward and honest.nI may be trusting, but I don’t appreciate being treated like a fool.
Today, on 3rd July at around 6:40 PM, I approached till number 1 at this branch to make a payment for my purchase. Unfortunately, the cashier appeared extremely tired and unmotivated barely able to speak and spoke to customers in a rude and entitled tone. It was truly draining and left me feeling upset and frustrated. I deeply regret coming here. It seems there is absolutely no supervision over the staff’s behaviour...
Very good and well stocked store but please please please invest in self service check outs. It will be a huge favour to the community .
This is on my way to another gym.nEasy to find things.nOnly negative is no self serve tills. But queues are fine for tills.
