First time used Lidl, I’m very impressed, I really like their bakery area that I can pick and choose what I like, I can buy 1 donut, 2 chocolate brownies and whatever I love, rather than a pack of 4 same flavor cakes from a normal supermarket, what a great idea.nnThe shop has almost everything that I would expect from a supermarket, fresh veg & fruits, fresh & frozen meat, ready meals, cakes & desserts, plenty drinks - wine, all sorts of milk, squash, soft drinks, flavored water, juices, everyday items - toiletries, toilet rolls, kitchen rolls, creams, toothpaste/brushes, clothings, newsletters & magazines, gifts & greeting cards, pet care & foods, seasonal products Easter eggs, presents, toys and related foods some tools, plants and garden stuffs too, and more.nnStore is quite big & clean, still provides hand sanitizer and cleaning products which is very useful.nnFree Parking spaces, including disabled spaces and parents & children spaces not sure if it has time limit?nnMy check out experience was quite slow, I was at the shop at 1330, shop was busy and only 2 check out were available. Self checkouts only accept cards, a guy bought an Easter egg & some flowers had to queue up for ages as he only had cash and couldn’t use self checkout.nnOverall, It’s a nice shop and will definitely use it again.
Disappointing Experience at Lidl – November 5, 7:10 PM Upperton Road, Leicester, UKnI have always considered Lidl a reputable grocery store known for quality products and good customer service. However, my experience yesterday at the Lidl branch on Upperton Road, Leicester, was deeply disappointing. At the checkout, the cashier was extremely rude when an onion bag had no barcode. She sent me back twice to replace it, and after several minutes, she finally left her counter to get one herself—but treated me as if I had done something wrong. I also witnessed her speaking disrespectfully to other customers, even refusing service to one in a humiliating manner. Lidl maintains high standards for quality and pricing, but it urgently needs to address the serious decline in customer service at this location.
I had a disappointing experience with an alcohol purchase at this Lidl in 13 December at around 5pmnnI was shopping with a friend earlier, using separate baskets. I showed my ID and it was confirmed that I am over 18. Even though my friend was not purchasing alcohol, the staff member asked for his ID as well. He did not have it, so we left without buying anything.nnA short time later, I returned alone to the store and wanted to purchase the wine again. Despite being on my own and having valid ID, the same staff member refused the sale, stating that I had previously been with someone else.nnI understand Challenge 25 and the importance of ID checks, but this felt inconsistent and unfair, especially as I was alone and legally eligible to purchase the item. I would appreciate clearer and more reasonable application of the policy.
Has everything I needed and ten minutes walk from the holiday inn express and king power stadium
Very Disappointing ExperiencenI visited Lidl Upperton Road on 5 November 2025 around 7 PM and spent £17.23. The female cashier was extremely rude, arrogant, and unhelpful. Despite mentioning it was my first visit and I wasn’t familiar with Lidl’s process, she showed no courtesy and even misbehaved with my brother. This experience left us both very frustrated and disappointed.
