Bakery section is great, specialities are always good and the rotating centre aisle provides great value on a variety of products. The produce is not always the freshest and can go off quite quickly compared to other supermarkets
I was disappointed with the service at the checkout. The staff member was unapproachable, impolite, and didn't respond to our questions. Overall, it was a frustrating experience.
Easy parking with good access to Manchester Road, and very handy to St Luke's Hospital. Serves an inner city community with the same good quality produce available in their suburban stores.
On June 22, around 7:10 p.m., I was shopping with my children and my neighbor at Lidl on Manchester road Bradford. A neighbor bought 3 boxes of organic eggs 3 boxes per customer. He was in line ahead of me and paid for it. Then I went to the checkout. The cashier woman over 55 years old scanned the purchases but took away the organic eggs 3 boxes per customer and said I couldn't buy them because we were together me and my neighbor. As a result, my children could not eat eggs. The neighbor approached the cashier and said that we were not together. The cashier said we were there. So the neighbor asked the manager. During the conversation with the manager, the neighbor asked if he had any proof that we were together. The manager said that the cashier said we were together. So I couldn't buy the product I wanted. It was taken away from me at the checkout only because I was shopping with a neighbor with whom I often went to Lidl. My children and his go to a nearby school together. For organic eggs there was an inscription 3 boxes per customer. My neighbor was the first customer paid separately and I was the second customer paid separately. I don't understand why the cashier said we were together you're not allowed to talk to anyone in the checkout line?. Does the cashier have the right to determine who is shopping with whom? I don't understand why the manager only listens to the cashiers and not the customers.
Store is perfectly fine just like any other - the staff on the other hand are extremely rude not all some. This is my local store so i use this atleast 2-3 times a week based on what i have experienced and what i have seen i can only put this down to racism. Really talk down to foreign people making them look stupid especially if English is not their first language. I dont even engage with most staff now as i know what to expect. Management will not do anything. I can guarantee if i walk in after 6 months of this feedback there will be no change in attitude from staff. Most dont even do the basics of hello and thanks its like they are being inconvenienced leaves a horrible taste
