If you haven't been to Glossop library since it moved into the adult education centre you - please go. It is over 2 floors and is clean, bright and spacious with a good range of genres. Lovely cozy chairs as well
Veni locutus sum et adiutus sum. I came I spoke and I was helped. My visit was due to my DBS check for HFUS home for Ukrainian Refugees, or as i like to say guests. although first minute was bit confusing that was due to my language skills ladies in library where really helpful and help me through the way of confirming im whom I'm. Although they did that few times already my case was weird and slightly different for them. That did not stop them from helping me and achieving final goal. I will go there again. This time with big chocolate cake and flowers. To say thank you.
Admin is terrible. A shambles. Most of the staff are very nice most of. Since I joined, they've got just about everything wrong, mixed up, and that includes reservations. However, if you owe anything in fines, they'll be on you like a ton of bricks. They certainly get that right!
Although I did love the old building, I must admit that the new building is more fit for purpose. The library is now split over two floors, and there is now some desk space for those wishing to come in and work on their laptops. However, this is offset by the fact that the Wifi drops out frequently, meaning that it is hard to actually get much work done.
I love the library, simply for the service it provides. Everyone is really friendly and makes you feel welcome there and are always around to help.
Absolutely outraged that my toddler has been refused access to use the toilet at the new library in glossop! Being told that on a Saturday there is only a staff toilet? She's 2.5 years old and has been toilet trained for months and is now asking why, 'the mean lady at the library' wouldn't let her use the toilet but the 'nice man' in Aldi does??? Not really the best impression to be setting.
Although the ambience of the old Library is much missed, the staff are unfailingly helpful and kind. An oasis of calm.
I didn't like the new building at first, but it's growing on me. The library has an excellent choice of books in a pleasant atmosphere
Just made a quick telephone enquiry, the very helpful member of staff assisted me brilliantly!
Great for books, down side is no wifi and internet connection & running of the computers isn't the greatest but it's reasonable!
