Very friendly staff member. Always nice to us. I love playing badminton there as it’s clean and tidy. The only problem we face is the karate guys never leave on time. Every single day they are 5/10 late. So we loose 5/10 minutes every time. Reported to management but looks like nothing happening.
Come here every Friday to use the pool. It's fairly quiet over lunch time when I swim. Maybe a swim school either coming in or out but it doesn't get in the way and there are always at least two/ three lanes.
In a cardio area sad music plays most of the time. I usually cone here happy but by the end of my training get sad and then I realised the reason. For people training it should be techno, dance, hip hop or selected pop, imo. But not songs about forever lost love. Please fix.
Swimming Lessons: I have left due to the swimming lessons at the Leytonstone Leisure Centre being terrible.nThe instructors are always sitting down, always on the other side of the pool, always talking amongst each other and have a poor level of coaching skills. Each week I used to see many people joining and leaving. There is a culture issue at the gym. I have forfeited a month's worth of lessons, that's how poor it is. There is a lack of care and passion. I am speaking as an educational professional.
The building is covered in scaffolding outside and inside… it looks like one of those structures with unsafe concrete. It probably is. There are scaffold boxes in the changing room that makes it hard to move through already narrow corridors, totally inaccessible to those with mobility issues. How are they even allowed to stay open?!? Cleanliness is totally lacking, like all ‘Better’ facilities. If you don’t feel the urge to run away for the stink of piss in the changing cubicles, you’d probably be running away for fear the whole thing is going to collapse. The pool itself could be ‘acceptable’ if it wasn’t that half of the lanes are taken over by kids swim lessons, even though they could be condensed into two. And despite this, of three lessons left for swimming, one lane also has a staff member teaching few kids, meaning effectively you are crammed into two short, shallow lanes. Sounds like a great place to swim and relax!
