Our Family have used Lewis Solomons going back to when they first started in Gravesend. I was concerned when I heard they had changed hands but the Service was brilliant. Everyone was so kind and helpful. They looked after Dad with respect and made a sad occasion bearable

I recently returned from my home in the US to lay to rest my beloved brother and scatter some of his ashes.  The funeral parlor kept his ashes until I returned (at a price) I went with my family to pick up his ashes and asked if they had a small container I could take with me with some of his ashes.  The receptionist returned with an small cardboard tube about 3 " high with a picture of a moon and some tiny stars.  She said it was the only kind they had, when I asked the price I was told 15 pounds!  I paid so that I could leave and deal with my grief.  I don't know who told this lady to charge such an exhorbitant price but whoever it was realized my emotional state, pressing time, and capitalized on both.  The cost per unit of such containers could only have been 1 pound per unit in bulk but my need was great and I purchased it.  I've since reflected on my purchase and feel disgusted and disappointed.  It's nothing to do with the money it's about being casually financially preyed upon by a faceless being "downstairs" capitalizing on my distress.  Would I recommend this funeral home........a profound NO.
