We had a beautiful 3 course meal here. Authentic french food with great service. They offer an early bird menu too which is nice if you want to eat there but not spend a fortune because it is pricey. A busy spot but a nice atmosphere. We will definitely be back. The only thing I did notice is that the toilet is upstairs so not wheelchair accessible.
Presentation was what might be expected of a nice French restaurant, but flavours were more gastropub level. Dessert was good all right. Gripe: charging €2 for extra bread is plain mean when the set price dinner is €49! If you live in Cork, as I do, it's probably worth dining here once and forming your own opinion. Might be your thing. But if you're just visiting, there is better food elsewhere in the city for less money and in a far more welcoming environment. Update: I've eaten here again since the above review and I must say the food was fantastic on the second visit. Upping my stars on that basis. But I stand by my view that the place is not terribly welcoming. Perhaps though that just reflects French or Parisian? custom that diner-waiter interaction is a serious affair which one approaches in a businesslike way.
Excellent spot for family or intimate occasion. The ambience/ food/ staff are of a higher calibre to it's peers around the city. It's one of those places you would try and keep for special occasions so as not to dilute your regard for it.
This is by far the best restaurant in Cork. The 3-dish course was absolutely fantastic. The service was amazing as well. Great wine choices. Lovely ambiance. I highly recommend this restaurant.
