It was my first experience at this parliament building when I visited as part of my community women's group. It was an invigorating, warm, educational, philosophical, and awakening experience for a person of colour. It was profound to contextualize reality and to confirm history. Perfect for someone who likes or is triggered by history or simply to see where most political decisions are made. It was also grand to meet the former PM and other parliamentarians.
Built in 1745 by the 20th Earl of Kildare, James Fitzgerald, Kildare House, later renamed to Leinster House when the Earl became the 1st Duke of Leinster in 1766. The Irish Parliament, Houses of the Oireachtas, have occupied it since 1922 to date. I
Came here under recommendation a coworker during my study abroad and internship program back in 2014. So much history and culture that I learned here and it was great learning the history of Ireland and its government. Bashful place for sure!
If it was possible to leave a -5 or zero rating I would. This building is where the real true Irish people are discriminated against and oppressed by evil imposter faux “Irish” serpents. They enact bills and laws which are draconian and classist against the true Irish who are poor and destitute. They can’t even run the country properly They just run it into the ground, they have made Ireland a banana republic. The only way of fixing it now is spiritual / faith based. By the power of God the most high these serpents occupying Ireland are dealt with and punished / destroyed for their treason, Sheol shall be your abode.
Really informative tours given here. You can visit both chambers of the Oireachtas and learn about the history of the place since the Dail first sat here in 1922 and even before then.
Very interesting architectural heritage and informative tour!!
Interesting and educational tour of Leinster House - thanks to Neale Richmond for the invite!
My fellow members of the WALK and I went to visit this place. It's absolutely amazing. I thought I never visited any buildings like that before in my whole life. The tour is excellent. The tour guide's name is Sarah Carroll. She is very kind and friendly and she is also a lovely woman. The staff members are nice and friendly as well. I'd like to visit that place again someday.
