Staff are really lovely apart from cross country. They seem to be a bit miserable. The company need to do something to make them happier. Station is okay. Toilets are relatively clean if you’re lucky. The area in general just smells a bit like old wee.
Nice and clean station, multiple gates for exit and lifts for all platforms.nnDo lack some more shops and eating joints at the station the shops there close too early and difficult to find anything to eat after evening.
This was a fantastic station to both depart and arrive at, with appropriately sized platforms for the trains! Navigation is easy through the many signs, the steps make for accessibility and there is a grand entrance. Departure boards are also featured throughout and they were kept up-to-date, while cleanliness had been maintained!
Various services for which you can't use an online only ticket, so you need to buy a paper ticket. Then machines don't allow you to collect with revolut, monzo etc, meaning you have to go to the travel centre and queue up. Such an archaic policy.nAlso guy at the ticket barrier was seemingly trying out for a contest for most needlessly grumpy staff member award. I wish him luck and feel he has every chance of success.
I love Leicester city centre. So many fabulous shops, both chain and independent, plus lots of cultural things to do and see. Amazing eateries too.
