Leeds Federated is a Housing Association managing around 4,000 properties in Leeds, North Yorkshire and Wakefield areas.

Story

Leeds Federated was formed in 1974 by a number of smaller associations coming together to form a 'federation' for the benefit of the community. The idea was that by working together they could achieve more than being separate organisations.
That philosophy has prevailed throughout Leeds Federated's history, with partnerships and joint working arrangements being a common feature of our operations over the years.

The Association grew quickly through the 1970s and early 1980s, acquiring mainly victorian terraced housing across the city. From the early 1990s, Leeds Federated concentrated on new build development, initially undertaken through Leeds Partnership Homes. Our 4000 homes are roughly half pre-1919 stock, and half new build.

Most of our homes are in Leeds, but through the 1990s the Association started developing outside Leeds and now has around 400 homes in Harrogate and 100 in Wakefield.

Just recently moved home. Leeds Federation are great landlords. All my requests for my property have been adhered to and fixed and on the allotted time so thank you for your efficient repairs service. Linda Russell and David Hayes
The whole Leeds Fed is abysmal and that is putting it lightly. The repairs are never done, I have had 2 big gas leaks and rats inside my home and nothing was done about it for a year. The housing officers Racheal and Charlie are liars and grassers! The manager Zuska Downing is very incompetent and useless and gaslights. The area managers consider things which aren't relevant and dismisses things which are. The whole of leeds federated discriminates lies and harrasses and then are hypercritical as I have demanded many of times for them to stop emailing me and leave me alone but keeps on doing so and saying I'm causing the staff distress when I'm the one that's been harrassed and being caused alarm and distress. The whole Leeds federated are worse than useless.
The customer service for repair is absolutely poorly. They don’t really care whether your problem solved or not. The person on the phone is a lair she told me the manager will call me back I waited for a week and still didn’t get a call back cos the manager didn’t think it’s necessary to give me a call!!! While I told her it’s a leak on the sink. They don’t really care very unprofessional careless.
Idk what the fust is all about with this company . Since I’ve been with LFHA there’s no complaints what so ever, it’s straight forward pay your bills and if there’s anything that need to be fix, call them if there’s any available it got fix ASAP.The only complaint I have is that they always there on time and always willing to go beyond above idk why would people complain that the company bad, what you give is what you got straight sample. You want it fast you got it fast , your patient you get the best service. They haven’t give me no money to post this, but been with them for 6 years and absolutely great Agency. Just wanted to bye the house from them ; that’s all but the landlord won’t sell it. Find a different one for me please …… lol. Great company.
Why are they housing relatives close to each other when it’s against their policies? They house them together and then they gang up on the vulnerable. Someone here needs investigating.
They don't do them jobs on time I'm in process for mutual exchange for 75 days still our process not clear and after leaving email and call to Customer service nobody contact you again . After 120 days they gave me no answer . Update: Thanks for your reply I see you tell contact to One of our team. Which I did by phone call and email. I have got, no answer. And second You tell me go to house exchange website that's mean go find someone else! After Send you our application since 27 of December 2023 you saying that! I can do it my self as well Thanks for telling me but still I want finish my process which I have emergency situation that is why I come here after Disappointed my process I hope you get me . Thanks.
Absolutely disgusted , rang at 8:45M to tell them I’ve had no gas for 12 hours as the gas emergency people came out and deemed it as “high risk”. Then get told the out of hours team can’t deal with that so to ring at 9am. Then I’m told the engineer will be there within 8 hours. It’s now 9pm , -3 degrees and no one will tell me anything. They don’t care one bit about their tenants.
I met one of staff today Nichola she was brilliant for 2 years I've struggled for an adapted house she was fantastic as an ex builder for letting agents I've experience compared to a lot of companies they're a cut above and thank you then after negligence on repairs broke my spine some are honest and straight to the point about time people communicating was a priority new housing officer Sharon is great but back up your staff and resolve issues
Customer service there is none disgusting how you get spoken to and as for repairs forget it there don’t do nothing only send surveyors to look then say yes needs doing nobody comes absolutely disgraceful … these flats are out dated full of asbestos ..2024 update so I have had a neighbour above me living for nearly two yrs now I have gone through hell with this foul mouthed foul behaviour from banging shouting swearing all night early morning daily nightly used the noise app sent in over 160 recording video recordings on my phone footage on my doorbell camera had ti get police involved which leeds fed intervened and said it was house noise when it defo was not another neighbour complained had to get Leeds city council involved to get me noise equipment as them clowns said they wouldn’t says they was putting soundproofing in after 10 months then clowns said no no support but they did him Councillor and my local mp are now involved total let down by these clowns liars they side with the perpetrators and the victim is left to deal with everything on my own he’s now on a public order from police which I must state have been so supportive also victim support too … they believe the foul behavioured piece of dirt as banging was due to a cooker door at 10 .55 at night after police had left his flat he was angry and let rip in his flat harassing me all night and they believe him over me absolutely disgrace these clowns running a circus I have been pushed and pushed till my health went downhill so bad I ended up in hospital I’ve been told I cannot ring customer service anymore & to speak with a member who does not know much about this case and no help whatsoever I refuse to speak with these clowns no longer … housing ombudsman can deal with them I will be taking this further as I would never want this to happen to any tenant who lives on this block which they have failed there duty of care… chopped trees down no soundproof outside neither now took shrubs out and looks a disgrace bare… don’t contact any tenant when they do it no health and safety letter nothing they are the worst association that I have ever come across and it is a circus of clowns and it needs to be looked into asap I also want to state that now I have a visitor calling most nights to check on me This harasser as suddenly stopped harassing me and the so called house noise as suddenly gone quiet just goes to show what a weak individual I have above me harassing a woman on her own at night … all of it was intentional toward me as I complained about him & that’s why he targeted me also told the clowns this & they did nothing … also offered me 100 pound for waiting so long for soundproofing and couldn’t find a contractor oh lord it just gets worse I said I don’t want it insult after insult… this is ongoing by many involved trying to resolve what leeds fed should have done many months ago disgraceful also the rates going up triple the amount we pay next year well I’m not sure why as the communal area is a disgrace the fencing as never been painted the gates don’t lock properly the bench is old outdated and never varnished gritting we have to do ourselves when there’s grit in the box over 50s flats no privacy at all… can hear all conversations outside area always trouble with the lighting outside have to call gardeners out in summer because sometimes are left too long … buzzers on door are well outdated don’t use mine one neighbour it doesn’t work absolutely appalling needs a good tidy up and fresh paint on fencing but no doubt will be left to rot not worth the rent of rates leeds fed are a joke that’s putting it mildly
LFHA must be one of the worst landlords in the entire country. It is despicable the atrocious way they treat some of the most vulnerable people in Leeds. Their tenants are forced to accept this treatment due to having no other option. The Leeds Federated Housing Association Chief Executive, Matthew Walker has been failing as Chief Executive for over 20 years. Matthew Walker is paid £142,000 annually for this failure.
